Playtech Broadcasts Live Casino Games From Inside London’s Hippodrome

Playtech and The Hippodrome Casino have partnered to launch “Live from London,” a live casino portfolio broadcast from inside the Leicester Square venue, Playtech announced on 15 سبتمبر 2026. The launch line-up features Dual Roulette, Studio Core Roulette, Blackjack and Baccarat, offered to operators and players across multiple regulated markets.

Powered by Playtech’s technology, the collaboration marks the latest addition to the supplier’s “Live From” portfolio, which the company describes as a growing range of venue-based live entertainment experiences. Playtech said the format gives operators and players the chance to experience what it calls the industry’s most iconic gaming destinations.

All four launch games are broadcast live from inside The Hippodrome. The companies said the portfolio is expected to expand further with additional tables as the partnership develops, and stated a shared commitment to delivering an engaging experience while upholding the highest standards of player protection.

Marat Koss, Playtech’s Chief Interactive Gaming Officer, said partnering with iconic gaming destinations remains a key part of the company’s Live Casino strategy as it expands the portfolio, and that both companies share a commitment to delivering innovative entertainment in a responsible way.

“‘Live from London’ merges the authenticity of a premium land-based casino and our technology to provide an engaging experience across multiple regulated markets,” Koss said.

Playtech’s ‘Live From’ Portfolio

The “Live From” portfolio already includes venue-based productions in Las Vegas. On its Live product page, Playtech describes Family Feud Live from Vegas as the first Live Casino game show streamed directly from the MGM Grand casino. The game was developed in partnership with MGM Resorts and Fremantle and is broadcast from a glass-walled studio at the MGM Grand, marking what the company calls a chapter in its “Live from Vegas” series.

Playtech’s studio network spans a flagship facility in Latvia, live studios in Romania and Spain, a presence in Peru and Brazil, and dedicated spaces in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, alongside its MGM Live cooperation in Las Vegas. The company said plans are already in progress for additional locations.

Playtech reported adding more than 120 new Live Casino brands internationally in 2024, and said it has launched and integrated over 90 new customer sites and instances over the last year. The company describes itself as a leader in regulated markets, citing what it says is the largest market share in Greece and Spain. Its live range includes brand tie-ins such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Deal or No Deal alongside original in-house content including the Quantum game suite.

A Venue Open Since 1900

The Hippodrome building opened on 16 يناير 1900, as a circus theatre under Edward Moss, managing director of the London Hippodrome and chairman of Moss Empires Limited. The venue’s published history records a 100,000-gallon pool used in performances featuring elephants, polar bears and carriages pulled by racing teams of horses. Works in 1909 enlarged the stage to suit the theatre for variety performances and, from 1912, revue-style shows, Harry Houdini performed at the venue, and it staged the country’s first performance of Swan Lake.

In the 1950s the building was transformed into the Talk of the Town, which hosted a residency by Judy Garland. Later incarnations included a nightclub managed by Peter Stringfellow and, in 2008, a return to circus entertainment with the burlesque cabaret La Clique, which closed in يونيو 2009. The Thomas family then spent years renovating the site, incorporating the adjacent Cranbourn Mansions, and opened it on 13 يوليو 2012, as what the venue describes as the UK’s largest casino and entertainment venue.

George Constantinou, The Hippodrome’s Director of Online Gaming, said the venue has entertained guests in the heart of London for more than a century and has become one of the most recognised casino destinations in the UK.

The Hippodrome, on Cranbourn Street at Leicester Square, describes itself on its website as the UK’s largest entertainment and casino venue, with seven floors, three casinos and London’s largest dedicated poker floor. The venue already offers remote play on its actual tables through the Hippodrome Online Casino under the “Hippodrome Live” name. Hippodrome Casino Limited is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 29471.
