Xbox Game Pass Core

It's a sad day for Xbox Game Pass members as the subscription service will be losing ten games on August 31; ten significant games, I might add. It's common for Xbox Game Pass to add games at the start, middle, and end of each month. However, as a result, we usually have to say goodbye to a few Xbox Game Pass offerings in the middle and at the end of each month. This isn't generally a big deal, but August 31 is an exception because certain notable Xbox Game Pass titles are departing the service, according to Xbox.

What exactly are those games? NBA 2K22, SpiritFarer, Hades, Two Point Hospital, and What Remains of Edith Fitch are the big hitters Xbox Game Pass is losing at the end of the month. Then there's Elite Dangerous, Myst, Signs of the Sojourner, Twelve Minutes, and World War Z also seeing their departures come August 31st. Before that date, all of these games can be purchased with a 20% discount, so if there are some of your favorites, capitalize while you can.

Games Coming to Xbox Game Pass in August

Hades has to be the most noteworthy of these games. The roguelike dungeon crawler is one of the genre's best, as well as one of the top-rated games of all time. That's why it'll be sad to see it leave, along with other critically acclaimed games like SpiritFarer. However, there is a tiny upside. Six more titles are being added to Xbox Game Pass before the end of August. Though they hardly do justice to the games we are losing.

Although Xbox Game Pass will lose ten games at the end of the month, the inclusion of these six new games is intended to compensate for the losses. Coffee Talk, Expunks, Opus:Echo of Starsong, Commandos 3 HD, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Tinykin will all join Xbox Game Pass on August 30th. The most notable titles in that group are Expunk and Opus: Echo of Starsong. They don't, however, come close to the five big-hitting games we highlighted before that Xbox Game Pass will lose on August 31st.
