Best Of
Top Xbox Series X Games of 2020s
Xbox Series X has been out for a little over a year, and in that time we've seen many great games. These 5 made a lasting impact on us, and we are sure that you'll enjoy them.
The Forgotten City
The Forgotten City grew organically from a solid Skyrim mode into an excellent standalone game. Stuck in a time loop, it's up to you to explore ancient Rome and save the empire before it collapses. The game won me over with its tight story, thought-provoking conversations, and a constant sense of mystery. In The Forgotten City every choice matters and the outcomes are not always most desirable.
Death's Door
Another hit came from Acid Nerve, with their adventure/RPG called Death's Door. In it, you take the role of a Crow – a creature whose job is to reap the souls from the dead. Things get complicated when someone steals your soul and you have to visit the land untouched by death. The game won me over with its combat and visuals, and as the story unfolded I realized it's a full package. Death's Door plays like an old-school Zelda title, and it managed to take the best parts of it while also creating something unique.
Forza Horizon 5
For fans of realistic racing games, we have a definitive winner. True, Forza Horizon 5 looks incredible, but it's much more than eye candy. It sports a massive open world, tons of cars and races to experience, and smooth, real-life handling. The game is also backed with an incredible soundtrack that keeps the adrenaline flowing long after the race is over. All in all, it's safe to say that Forza Horizon 5 drove the latest Microsoft console to its limits.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
It's been a year since the last Ori game came out, and I still can't help but think about it from time to time. This doesn't surprise me, as the Will of the Wisps ticks all of the important boxes. We have an epic soundtrack, breathtaking cutscenes, and visuals improved combat, and a heartfelt story that'll make a grown man shed a tear. Will of the Wisps improved on Ori and the Blind Forest in every single way, and I can't wait to see where the series will go from here.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon Review
Let's conclude this list with some ass-kicking. After all, you are Ichiban Kasuga – a member of the yakuza that got betrayed by those closest to him. Now, it's time to dust off your bat and start breaking bones in modern-day Japan. The game has an addictive turn-based combat system and its RPG elements are, while intuitive, pretty deep. Like a Dragon brought a new life to the Yakuza series, but it should appeal to the veterans as well.
