Can you think of your favorite turtle hero? It may be complicated to name just one, but most of us may be thinking about the same shell wearing, green ninjas. Yes! The game publisher “Dotemu” and developer “Tribute Games” brings to you “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge,” which is coming soon.

Refreshing your memory, the characters of the action hero turtles are Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, and Leonardo. While the storyline of the game is expected to keep us excited, “TMNT” fans cannot pretend like Venus de Milo never was a member of the “Ninja Turtles.” What a surprise would that be to see Venus, but we are just excited to play as the four main turtles.

Shredder’s henchmen, Bepop (the mutant warthog) and Rocksteady (a rhinoceros supervillain) both derive from genres of music: bepop is a style of jazz and rocksteady is a Jamaican music style, which is a precursor to reggae.

Remember the “Teenage Mutant Nina Turtles (1987 TV series)”? That is when Bebop and Rocksteady were introduced, being armed with firearms and laser weaponry from planet Earth and Dimension X. You are a ninja, so fear not. You just have to put a stop to the ruthless Foot Clan.

Gameplay:

“TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge” is still in development for “PC,” “PS4 (PlayStation 4),” “Xbox One,” and “Nintendo Switch.” One thing for certain is you can select your favorite turtle and each turtle has their own skills and moves. There are combos involved as well, so the arcade looking experience is like a blast from the past.

This game is being worked on at Tribute Games (a studio that brought you The 2D side-scrolling, shoot ‘em up game “Mercenary Kings.” There are tons of enemies needed to get annihilated. Turtles are stereotypically slow moving creatures, so what better way to humiliate a supervillain like Krang?

The developers are aiming to give you a nostalgic feeling with a (multiplayer mode) 1989 arcade classic “TMNT” and the 1991 sequel, “Turtles in Time.” Beat the villains on city rooftops and sewers in Manhattan and to Coney Island.

April O’Neil (a hopefully playable character to the roster) will be in the game defeating two members of the Foot Clan. During your time bashing your way through pixel art environments, you will also see Master Splinter.

The supported languages for “TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge”: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German.
