The Top 5 The Flintstones Games To Play Right Now

A modern Stone Age family would make me either think about a 4th world country or a cooperative family on the reality television series, Extreme Cheapskates. Fred Flintstone from Bedrock, does not need a electronics and is content with his wife, Wilma.

The Flintstones is an animated sitcom, produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions (which was an American animation studio and production company, responsible for creating animated shows like Scooby Doo, Super Friends. The Jetsons, and Tom and Jerry). That is why the catchphrases “Scooby Dooby Doo” and “Yabba Dabba Doo” sound awfully similar.

After William “Bill” Denby Hanna passed away in 2001, the rights to Hanna-Barbera Productions gradually transferred to Warner Bros. Cartoon Network. Here is a list of the Flintstones video games in order: Yabba Dabba Doo! (1986), The Flintstones (1988), The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy (1991), The Flintstones: King Rock Treasure Island (1993), The Flintstones (1993), Flintstones Jetsons: Timewarp (1994), The Flintstones (1994), The Flintstones: The Surprise at Dinosaur Peak (1994), The Flintstones: The Treasure of Sierra Madrock (1994), The Flintstones: Bedrock Bowling (2000), and The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2002).

The 1994 released Flintstones pinball machine, is based on the movie of the same name (starring John Goodman, Rick Moranis, and Harvey Korman). What exactly are the best Flintstones video games? Let’s take a look at the list and find out.

5. The Flintstones: Bring Back Bedrock (2014):

This is a video game app, published by Ludia for iOS and Android, on September 30, 2014. Customize the Flintstones’ home with a variety of furnishings and decorations. Use city Gizmosaurs to remove meteors, water dry patches and reconstruct 50 of Bedrock's iconic locations (like the bowling alley and drive-in theater).

4. The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas (2002):

Based off of the 2000 comedy film of the same name, The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas was released in Europe. Oddly, a racing game that shares the same name, was made specifically for the Sega Dreamcast but never released. The game was released for the GameCube, but only in Europe.

There are eight racetracks, (which can be raced mirrored or reversed) and nine different vehicles (and a bonus vehicle).

3. The Flintstones: BurgerTime In Bedrock (2000):

Developed by Conspiracy Entertainment Corpoation and published by Classified Games for Game Boy Color, The Flintstones: BurgerTime In Bedrock is based on the original series, The Flintstones. Also, the game is a remake of the video game, BurgerTime (1982).

Basically, Fred Flintstone or Barney (depending on what character you select) gets a new job in a fast food restaurant, called Bronto King. There are 25 levels and you have to assemble Bronto-Burgers and defend yourself against multiple pests.

2. The Flintstones: Rescue of Dino & Hoppy (1991):

On the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), the 2D Flintstones: Rescue of Dino and Hoppy has a Super Mario Bros. 3 style, but with bright graphics. Dr. Butler, from the 30th century, kidnaps Fred Flintstone’s pet, Dino and Barney’s pet, Hoppy. Fred is the only one who can see (his alien friend) The Great Gazoo, who has missing parts to the time machine.

Now, Fred has to travel with an effective club and earn back a piece of the time machine, on each stage he competes on. Other weapons can be picked up by Fred (like a rock axe, a slingshot, or an egg) to attack enemies.

There are mini games with 3 basketball courts. The game does attempt to imitate the style of Mega Man 2, the underwater and ice levels in Super Mario Bros. 3, as well as the Castlevania weapon system.

1. The Flintstones: Surprise At Dinosaur Peak:

Unlike The Flintstones: Rescue of Dino & Hoppy (the predecessor to The Flintstones: Surprise At Dinosaur Peak, the game was never released in Japan.

Switch between the playable characters of Fred and Barney. Fred can use his club and Barney can use his slingshot. In order to overcome certain obstacles, it is a must that you swap characters.

The Flintstones: Surprise At Dinosaur Peak, is a rare commodity. Just having a copy of this game can be rewarding. On websites like eBay, the game can be sold for $800 to approximately $1,500.
