The Game Awards’ Best Game of 2022: Who Will Win?

As we trickle nearer and nearer to the annual livestream event of The Game Awards 2022, pressure continues to rise as two warring factions remain in deadlock over Best Game: Elden Ring, and God of War Ragnarök.

On December 8, The Game Awards 2022 will host its feature-length showcase, which will highlight and crown a myriad of developers for a number of awards. However, the category that every gamer is eager to have explored is the Best Game award, which currently has six nominees, two of which are Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarök. As it stands, and it's easy to believe at this point, these are the two games to beat, so to speak, given their immense popularity amongst the community.

Of course, nothing is to say that either of these fantastic games will take home the award on December 8. In fact, the award is also open for A Plague Tale Requiem, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3, four games that are undeniably equally as deserving of taking Best Game this year.

What Game Will Win GOTY 2022?

There's no telling which game will win at this moment in time, but based on sales and overall popularity, there are two definitive frontrunners standing well ahead of the pack — and that's Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarök. Will either of these games take the prize? Only time will tell on that one.

The good news is, you can cast your vote for Best Game of 2022 by heading over to The Game Awards' official voting page here. Voting closes on December 7 at 6pm PT, and the show begins on December 8 via social media, YouTube, and Twitch.
