Back with your regularly scheduled, unadulterated entertainment, the co-op shooter “RICO London” is arriving in June 2021 on the following platforms: “PS4 (Playstation 4),” “PS5 (Playstation 5),” and “Nintendo Switch.” Developed by “Ground Shatter” (based in Bristol, UK) and soon to be published by “Aksys Games,” this first person shooter “RICO London” is the second entry to the “RICO” series. Maybe you despise cops, but that does not takes away from a excellent gaming experience you may have.

Gameplay:

In London on New Years Eve of 1999, while everyone is excited to get their groove on, the metropolitan police are working overtime. Suddenly, danger arrives. Detective Inspector Redfern is at the scene of an emerging shootout at the foot of a high rise tower. Without backup or any permission from a superior, Redfern attempts to take down the East End gangsters.

For your information, a detective inspector is a police officer who investigates a crime, ranking above a detective sergeant and below a detective chief inspector. “RICO London can be played up to 2 players. If you choose a partner, take down the gangsters with your partner. Call in a co-op ride along, either online or local. You can customize your loadout with a series of upgrades and performance enhancing perks.

Maybe it will not hurt to already know that the 9mm in your possession would never get you off the first floor. That is why you must chop and change from arsenal as you take down enemies. It also will not hurt to know that “RICO London” is an arcade-style multiplayer, which was inspired by modern action films.

Kick open doors, steal the weapons of the fallen, dodge bullets, and (most importantly) survive. The further you get in the game, the more challenging it gets to defeat the tough gangsters. As you shoot at enemies, like a comic book, the words “SLOW MO!” and “HEAD SHOT!” may pop up. How are you capable of dodging bullets so smoothly? Well, you just move in slow-motion.

If you feel like being a brave police officer, at least in a video game, get your hands ready to sweat after you press the pre-order button. James Parker (the founder of Ground Shatter) was inspired by the buddy cop movies of the 1980s and 1990s. “PC Games Insider” interviewed Parker and he had this to say, “All aspects of the game can be played couch co-op, which is something I really wanted to do as some of my favourite memories of gaming are sitting around with a friend playing together in the same room.”
