Sub-Zero, Scorpion, or Reptile? Who is the better ninja? I know those are not the only three ninjas out of all of the characters.

Gaming.net may not make the decision on which ninja is the greatest, but after looking at this article and watching the upcoming “Mortal Kombat” (2021) movie, you may.

Who is stronger?

In the cult classic “Mortal Kombat” (1995), if you rewatch the movie, you will remember that Shang Tsung calls Scorpion and Sub-Zero the “deadliest of enemies.”

Yet, Scorpion is stronger than Sub-Zero and Reptile is a minor character in “Mortal Kombat.”

Although Scorpion is stronger, Reptile was portrayed to be stronger than Scorpion and Sub-Zero in the 1995 movie, “Mortal Kombat, fighting against Liu Kang.

Sub-Zero has an undoubtedly cool power of harnessing ice, but Scorpion is ultimately stronger than Sub-Zero and Reptile, showcased in video games.

Wait! Scorpion got defeated by Sub-Zero before in the video game storyline. All three ninjas could be equally strong.

“Mortal Kombat” (2021), the movie is coming to theaters April 16, but the 1995 version had the CGI and digital effects look cartoonish.

Some of the characters even looked like the topping of a greasy hamburger. That must have been the perspiration or anti-aging cream.

Still, to this day, regardless that the 1995 “Mortal Kombat” movie lacks as much blood as the video game, it is an awesome site. It is a PG-13 movie anyway.

Mortal Kombat: Sub-Zero And Scorpion's Rivalry Explained

Mortal Kombat (1995):

In the 1995 version, Johnny Cage fought against Scorpion, but when Scorpion removed his mask, it was a skull, prepared to shoot dragon-like fire from the mouth. The Hollywood star, Johnny Cage gave Scorpion a beating and survived.

When Liu Kang fought against Sub-Zero, Kang had to use the element which brings life to put a stop to him.

Powers:

Sub-Zero has the phenomenal power of cryomancy. Cryomancy is the ability to control, shape, and manipulate ice.

In “Mortal Kombat 11,” Scorpion  has the ability to burn away his own flesh, turning into a fiery skeleton (burning and at time vaporizing whatever he touches). With such an effect, it is an inconvenience to harm him.

Obviously, Scorpion possesses the snake-headed rope and says, “Get over here.”

Reptile was hidden from the original movie, but was later introduced to the video game as a surprise.

As a Saurian, with an unknown age, he can perform the “Acid Spit,” “Chameleon” (to disappear and reappear, attacking opponents), “Running Serpent,” to run extremely fast and attack opponents with an elbow, etc.

There are many more moves from each ninja to name, but for the sake of the article, we have done the thinking for you. That is, unless you want to research all of the moves of each “Mortal Kombat” ninja.

Weapons:

Sub-Zero has various ice weapons like the Kori Blade, Frost Hammer, Polar Axe, ice daggers, ice bomb (available when Sub-Zero transforms into Cyber Sub-Zero), ice scepter, and ice clone.

Scorpion is known to use the kunai. In “Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3,” he uses an axe. It gave the fans a mixture of feelings when Scorpions spear was replaced with a snake in the “Mortal Kombat” 1995 version.

Reptile also possesses a kunai in the “Mortal Kombat” video game. In “Mortal Kombat 4” and “Mortal Kombat Gold,” he switches to a Battle Axe.

“Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance” and “Mortal Kombat: Armageddon” is when Reptile used the Kirehashi.

Costumes:

Sub-Zero’s costume upgraded over time while Scorpion’s costume went from a palette swap to the upgrade everyone is used to seeing him as.

As for Reptile, in “Mortal Kombat X,” he looked like if Venom was a slimy, human ninja.

Fighting Styles:

Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile's fighting styles changed over the years.

Scorpion has the Moi Fah style in “Mortal Kombat: Deception,” Pi Gua in “Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance,” and Hapkido in “Mortal Kombat: Deception” and “Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.”

Sub-Zero’s fighting style is Shotokan. His secondary fighting style is Dragon Kung Fu. Also, he can perform the ice blast, slide, ice shower, and many other moves.

Reptile has Hung Gar style and Crab Kung Fu in “Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.” In Mortal Kombat: Armageddon,” he has the Pào Chuí style. I would cover the fatalities of the ninjas, but you probably have an idea how those go.

In 1995 “Mortal Kombat” adaptation of the popular video game, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are allies. In the video game, the story started when Sub-Zero and his clan assaulted and killed him.

Sorcerer, Quan Chi gave Scorpion a second chance at life and hellish powers, which he used to try seeking revenge on Sub-Zero. Well, Scorpion got his revenge, but the war may never be officially over between them via storyline.
