Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 was released today across the world. However, it is presently unavailable on the Russian PlayStation Store. According to sources, Sony made the choice not to sell the game in Russia on Thursday night. Though the firm is yet to formally comment on the game's removal from sale.

Sony has become the most high-profile games business to pull items from sale in Russia. This comes after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which started on February 24 with assistance from Belarus.

The statement “Release date pending confirmation” now appears on Gran Turismo 7's Russia store page.

The development comes as Ukraine puts pressure on Xbox and PlayStation to discontinue supporting Russian markets. Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister called on the companies to stop supporting their products in Russia and Belarus earlier this week.

Mykhailo Fedorov wrote an open letter to the platform owners. He requested the companies to block all Russian and Belarusian accounts. Additionally, he requested that the platforms temporarily bar the countries' teams and players from competing in any international esports competitions.

CD Projekt, the creator of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher, halted sales of its products in Russia and Belarus on Thursday, including PC games published through GOG.

Meanwhile, EA has deleted all Russian teams from FIFA 22, as well as all Russian and Belarusian teams from NHL 22.

Ukraine-based Stalker 2 studio GSC Game said this week that it has put on hold the development of the game. This is due to Russia's invasion of its home country.

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, many firms in the gaming industry have made efforts to support the country. The creator of the anti-war game This War of Mine recently vowed to contribute a portion of the game's sales to the Ukrainian Red Cross, and John Romero, co-creator of Doom II, has built a new level for the game to generate money for Ukraine's war effort.
