SkateBIRD’s Bird-Themed Skateboarding Game Is Right Around The Corner

SkateBIRD is just around the corner from being released on Xbox Game Pass. On September 16, 2021, for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, you can own the bird-themed skateboarding game. As you may notice in the SkateBIRD trailer, there is a bird that can stylishly skate, but can the bird fly? We know that there are numerous collectibles, cosmetic items, mixed tapes scattered on all of its levels, new gear to unlock, and a skateboard with special powers. Why would you need to skate, let alone want to, if you can fly? Well, you get a new type of excitement, sort of like Superman enjoying a roller coaster, instead of flying. Yes, the bird can flutter around, but that does not mean your skateboarding skills will be effortless.

Based on the music in the trailer, you can already guess that this is a relaxing sandbox game. It was just in 2019 when SkateBIRD launched its Kickstarter page, achieving a total funding of $67,220, from 2526 backers.

Story:

As a lonely little bird, you Big Friend has hung up their board for good. Since their job is nowhere near pleasant and lately, they are barely around to bond with you, skateboarding is your escapism. The more you actively skate, the more other birds will notice you. In micro-sized skateparks, kickflip over staplers, grind on bendy straws, and carve killer lines through sticky tape parks and cardboard. You will make friends along the way and they will assist you in finding more parks. Together, you can finally fix Big Friend’s life.

With over 30 species of birds to choose from, more excitement comes your way. Megan Fox (the founder/programmer/designer at Glass Bottom Games) says that the skill-based SkateBIRD, is a “real actual skating game, not a joke.” No. Not the A-list Transformers actress, Megan Fox, (even though this Megan, just may have acting talent). Overall, the storyline of SkateBIRD hits home to many of us, still not changing the fact that most of us want to dive into some skateboard action.
