Silent Hill Announcement Will Arrive on October 19th

Konami has shed light on the ever-elusive Silent Hill saga, confirming that a certain “transmission” will be announced on October 19, 2022 at 2pm PT.

Although it's been in the cards for quite some time now, Konami has continued to maintain silence over the future of the universally acclaimed Silent Hill series. It seems now, though, that the publisher could just be about ready to share some exciting news on what's to come. As for what it is or what the upcoming announcement will entail is anybody's guess. Nevertheless, it's something, if only to grease the wheels while Konami slowly nudges the horror anthology back into its rightful position.

Konami Will Announce “Transmission” This Coming Wednesday

Announced today over on Twitter, Konami will be releasing a certain “transmission” regarding the future of Silent Hill. Although somewhat brief and evidently cryptic, all signs appear to be pointing to a new game in the timeline. The only problem is, we don't quite know what it is, or if it'll be anything to do with the rumors of the defunct Silent Hills game coming back to life, for that matter. Whatever it is, it's good news for both horror fans and long-term die-hards of the IP.

Of course, another suggestion that's been making its rounds the past few weeks is a Silent Hill 2 Remake. Seems plausible, what with Konami itching to get a slice of Campcom's pie after the critical success the recent Resident Evil Remakes have accrued. It's difficult to say, but a remake of any one Silent Hill game wouldn't exactly be out of the question. Either way, come Wednesday, we'll be sure to find out.

You can tune in to the upcoming announcement on October 19, 2022 at 2pm PT via Konami's official Twitter handle.
