Shocktober 2022: 5 Best Xbox Game Deals Right Now

Halloween has finally landed, and Xbox has already done us the pleasure of uploading a fresh batch of spooktacular games to its newly revised Shocktober 2022 mega sale. Question is, which Xbox game deals have caught our eye, and which of them should you, the horror-loving gamer, look to purchase before the sale fizzles out and makes way for the winter festivities?
The good news is, the Shocktober 2022 sale is live until November 1st, which means you've got just enough time to bag some last-minute deals before the Halloween season fades to black. So, without further ado, here are the five best deals you can currently purchase on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
5. The Dark Pictures Anthology – Triple Pack — $32.99
It's fair to say that no good Halloween night comes without one of Supermassive Games' Dark Pictures chapters already preloaded onto the conveyor belt. At this point, it's something of a tradition, and there honestly isn't a year that goes by where we don't take a chunk out of one of its story-driven episodic adventures. And now, you can pretty much relive the entire journey to date, with The Dark Pictures Anthology – Triple Pack, a three-in-one bundle that comprises Man of Medan, Little Hope, and House of Ashes.
For those who don't know, The Dark Pictures Anthology is a survival horror series, and one that integrates player choice into a slew of relatively short but ridiculously replayable experiences. And with the fourth and final chapter of the first season, The Devil in Me, set for a November release, now would probably be the best time to relive the highlights. You can pick up the triple pack on the Microsoft Store for $32.99.
4. Resident Evil: Raccoon City Edition — $19.79
If you haven't been able to sink your claws into Capcom's award-winning reimagined versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 yet, now would be a spectacular time to bag them for your library. Thanks to the Raccoon City Edition, owners can enjoy both revamped and totally revitalized tales, as well as Resident Evil Resistance, one of its online multiplayer counterparts that launched alongside Resident Evil 3.
It goes without saying that Halloween is built to accommodate best-selling horror franchises — video games included. And on that basis, any evening of frights and thrills just wouldn't be complete without Raccoon City and a whole city overrun with flesh-eating zombies. So, best jump at it while it's still available. You can pick up your copy of Raccoon City Edition for just $19.79.
3. Blair Witch — $8.99
It doesn't matter if you're a massive fan of the cult-classic horror movie, to be fair. So long as you enjoy a bit of good old fashioned psychological torment, then you'll no doubt find Blair Witch an absolute blast. Although relatively short compared to a lot of other first-class survival horror games, the Bloober Team-led adaptation is still perhaps one of the best and most immersive games on the current chopping block. And the best part is, it's less than $10.
Blair Witch follows a similar pattern to the movie: you're alone, stranded in the Black Hills Forest while on the lookout for a missing boy. Set just two years after the events of the film, you will follow an almost identical breadcrumb trail through the shadows, where the final destination happens to be your deepest, darkest nightmare. The Blair Witch awaits, and for only $8.99, at that.
2. Little Nightmares I & II — $19.99
Studio Ghibli fans — this one's for you. Or, survival horror fans, in general, actually. Little Nightmares is back, fully bundled and at an incredibly generous discounted price to boot. For just $19.99, you can get your hands on both Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II, two award-winning chapters that went on to claim the title of Best Indie game of 2016 and 2017.
Little Nightmares tells the tale of two unlikely friends, Six, and Mono, as they set out to cross deadly lands rife with unusual and hell-bent creations. With every room hosting a sinister theme or secret, players must use a combination of stealth, intuition, and straight-up bravery to power through and see the light of a new dawn break. It's terrifyingly beautiful, and hands down one of the most essential bundles on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S right now.
1. We Happy Few — $5.99
It's probably best not to let the candy-popping visuals fool you, as We Happy Few is actually quite a creepy game. If you were to strip away its outdated British stereotypes and the vibrant locale, conceptionally, it's something of a nightmare. And if you haven't had the opportunity to explore it just yet, then you'll be pleased to know that it's currently sitting with a huge discounted price tied to it, coming it at just $5.99.
We Happy Few is based around a hallucinogenic drug called Joy, something that the vast majority of the city's population consume to cover up the harsh reality that they live in. As a number of characters, you will come off your Joy and experience the nightmare firsthand, without color and without the flourescent albeit incredibly false personalities that devour it. Wellington Wells is calling, and it wants to show you the secrets that countless others would kill to ignore. We Happy Few is currently available on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for $5.99.
So, what's your take? Will you be picking up any of the above five games this Halloween weekend? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
