Saints Row Reboot Faces Harsh Critiques Following Buggy Launch

Saints Row is one of the biggest releases of 2022. Unfortunately for fans of the quirky series, though, the reboot has fallen flat in just about every way, which has caused quite the stir in the community.

After nearly a decade of silence, Volition finally released the long-awaited revival chapter of the beloved Saints Row series earlier this week. The problem, however, was that it launched a buggy mess, plagued by poor writing, outdated graphics, and a whole lot of uninspired open world vistas. Due to the cascade of issues the game released with, both fans and critics took it upon themselves to vent their frustration over on social media.

In response to the negativity, Volition released a day one patch, something that addressed a number of in-game bugs and other issues. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to dismiss countless other issues players were raising during the opening week. And as it stands today, many argue that the game, in its current state, is borderline unplayable.

Still, It Isn't Quite Cyberpunk 2077

The hardest pill to swallow, of course, is the fact that Volition actually ended up delaying the game to make amends and polish it before setting it up for release. Its efforts, however, failed to redeem the glitch-riddled disaster that ended up being the finalized product.

Of course, it's still early days, and there's plenty of time for Volition to fix what's broken. At the time of writing, though, it isn't looking too healthy, and honestly, it isn't within a hundred miles of breaching the same level of perfection as its former successes.

So, what's your take? Have you been able to play Saints Row yet? Have you encountered any game-breaking bugs or underlying issues? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
