Resident Evil 8 Trailer & Gameplay to Be Showcased Next Week

Updated on

It's time to jot down the Resident Evil Showcase in your diaries — because it looks like Village is about to make another appearance. That's right, Capcom are preparing some new and exciting gameplay material as well as a fresh trailer to the upcoming eighth instalment next week. On January 21st at 10pm GMT, Capcom will be taking fans on a “guided tour” of Resident Evil Village. With exclusive content from the twisted minds behind the series, streamers will be able to get a feel for what's to come — and then some.

Resident Evil Village was first teased back in June 2020 during the PS5 showcase. Since then, we've only been brought up to speed on some of the basic plotlines and protagonists. And, from what we've learned so far, it seems that Ethan's story isn't quite over, and that Biohazard was really only the beginning. Of course, we'll likely uncover more to the upcoming entry next week. In the meantime, however, we're left to second-guess the nooks and crannies of the project.

Will Resident Evil Village be exclusive to next-gen?

Capcom has made it clear that the newest title will be exclusive to next-gen consoles, and haven't yet confirmed if it will ever reach ex-gen. That being said, in an interview with producer Tsuyoshi Kanda, comments were made about potentially bringing the game to Xbox One and PS4 in the future. But we'd probably take those loose words with a pinch of salt, to be honest. Either way, it seems that the developer is still considering the possibility.

You can watch the Resident Evil Showcase through YouTube or Twitch. Or, if you're not passing by, we'll be keeping tabs on the presentation and relaying it all right here. Until then, you'll have to settle for some good old-fashioned sneak previews.

Resident Evil Showcase - January 2021 | Teaser

Resident Evil Village is looking to release during Q2 2021 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Windows. But don't quote us on that, as this is purely down to Capcom leaks and rumours. Here's hoping we'll see a release date next week, though. Either way, we'll be sure to keep you in the loop.
