Bethesda has revealed the release date for the upcoming shooter from Arkane Studios, Redfall. The game publisher announced the news at the Xbox's Developer Direct showcase earlier today.

Alongside the release date, Bethesda unveiled some new gameplay footage. The footage gives fans a comprehensive preview of what to expect from the game. The footage shares more information on the characters' unique skills and the game's setting, Mass. In addition, we get a sneak peek at the lighthouse story quest. Arkane’s showcase featured Redfall’s major objectives and undead enemies that players can expect from the survival horror game. Further, the developer shared details of the game's side quests and some unique weapons.

Players can select one of four protagonists to battle against vampires who have taken over and destroyed Redfall after a failed scientific experiment. The four protagonists include combat engineer Remi de la Rosa, telekinetic student Layla Ellison, supernatural sharpshooter Jacob Boyer, and cryptozoologist and inventor Devinder Crousley. Redfall offers both single-player and co-op multiplayer modes.

Redfall was first announced at the Xbox and Bethesda E3 showcase in June 2021. The game was initially scheduled to debut in 2022 with Starfield, another Bethesda game. But, the developers delayed the release of the two games to a 2023 early release. We can now mark our calendars as we have a release date for the first-person survival game. The game will launch on Xbox Series X and PC. Additionally, Redfall will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Redfall Release Date

Redfall will launch on May 2, 2023, for PC and Xbox Series X/S. It is also important to note that you can only play the game on current-generation systems. Redfall will also be accessible via Xbox Game Pass on the first day of release.
