PUBG and McLaren

PUBG developers Krafton announced today a new and exciting collaboration with McLaren Automotive. Known as the McLaren Event, this crossover will bring exclusive McLaren vehicle skins and other items to PUBG: Battlegrounds. The McLaren Event will take place on PC from September 6 to September 15, and on console from September 15 to November 9. Each start date corresponds to the upcoming 19.2 update, which will be available on PC on September 7 and on consoles on September 16. More on the update is just below, but first, let's take a look at what's available in the McLaren event.

The highlight is that PUBG players can obtain the McLaren GT Standard – Onyx Black vehicle skin. This can be acquired from McLaren Loot Cashes during the event, as well as other costumes, gear, and emotes. The Coupe RB vehicle found in Miramar can also be outfitted with McLaren skins thanks to the new vehicle interaction feature.

The McLaren GT – Silica White and the McLaren GT Elite – Volcano Yello skins are also available in the Vehicle Workshop. Both are unlocked by acquiring tokens from purchasing McLaren Loot Caches and the Crafter Pass: McLaren. Both are being sold for a limited time, during the duration of the event. Then at the starting island will be a special McLaren container with a car inside. Only players with McLaren skins will be able to interact with and drive it in the pre-game lobby.

PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 19.2

Coinciding with the release of the PUBG and McLaren crossover is update 19.2. Most notably, this update is introducing a food truck for players to drive and use exclusively on Deston. Teammates can ride in the back of the food truck and up to four players can open fire out of its side window. There's also an all-new weather system for Deston, which brings changing weather conditions to each match.

A new Heavy Stock has also been added to provide more stability to those who do not prefer fast-paced combat. In addition, the game now has updated weapon and player animations. This is intended to improve the player's experience, but keep in mind that the new animations have the same timing as the old ones. Aside from that, there are a lot of other minor changes, but you can read about them all in the 19.2 patch notes here.
