Promising E3 Games To Watch Out For

Published

 on

E3 is still in full swing, and, with the sheer amount of great games that are coming out soon, it can be hard to pay attention to all of them. That's why we have decided to compile our favorites into one place. Here are some of the most interesting E3 games that you should be aware of.

Back 4 Blood

To start, we have a new zombie shooter from Turtle Rock Studios – the team that created the Left 4 Dead franchise. Back 4 Blood will once again feature a hectic 4-player co-op campaign and competitive PVP mode. This time, we will fight against Ridden, nightmarish creatures that sprouted from human hosts, in an effort to save what's left of our world. To do this you will take the role of one of the Cleaners, each of which has special abilities. Back 4 Blood open beta will start on August 5th, and we are pumped to try it.

Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC

Battlefield 2042

With this new installment in the series, EA has decided to move away from rehashing WW2 battles. Battlefield 2042 will be an exclusively multiplayer experience, where up to 128 players will clash on dynamic battlegrounds. The sheer magnitude of this is unprecedented, and, if done right, Battlefield 2042 just may be the revitalizing force this series needed. If this trailer is any indication, we are in for a treat.

Endless Dungeon

Next, we have a rogue-lite action RPG / tower defense game from Amplitude Studios. Endless Dungeon is the 5th installment in a critically acclaimed series and the first title that will be in real-time. In it, you find yourself shipwrecked next to a massive space station, along with other heroes who've been here for decades. It's up to you to team up with castaways, protect your crystals,  and figure out how to escape. Each of the rooms contains new types of monsters, and you are going to have to think few steps ahead if you wish to stay alive.

Loot River is an upcoming action dungeon crawler best described as a mix between Tetris and Diablo. Its dark fantasy atmosphere goes hand-in-hand with tense and unforgiving real-time battles. Each death will place you in a parallel universe, so it should be easy for Loot River to remain fresh for a while. To see how it all looks in practice, take a look at this badass gameplay footage.

Lost Ark

Lost Arka popular free-to-play hack-and-slash MMO from Korea, will finally be released in English.  The game is a unique mix of sci-fi and high fantasy and relies on Diablo's tried-and-true combat formula. With 15 classes to choose from, tons of weapons and skills, open-world, and colossal bosses, it's got all of the right ingredients. One thing is for sure – its sheer level of epicness can hardly be matched.

Metal Slug Tactics

Leikir Studio threw a real curveball with Metal Slug Tactics. This is a spinoff of a popular Japanese run-and-gun game, which is now turned into a turn-based tactical RPG. The developers promised to keep its lighthearted approach, as well as challenging difficulty while adding a roguelike element for replayability. Visually Metal Slug Tactics looks very crisp, especially the animated cutscenes which you can see here. Although there is still no definite date, the hype is real.

A fresh reintroduction of a cult series Steam

Psychonauts 2

Without a doubt, one of my most anticipated E3 games is Psychonauts 2. I've been waiting over a decade and a half, and by taking one look at the trailer it seems that it's been worth it. Once again, we will take the role of Raz, a skillful young psychic who has just joined a psychic espionage team called Psychonauts. If it's anything like the original, we are talking about a lighthearted adventure / platformer with a great sense of humor.

Tales of Arise

Bandai Namco is at it again, coming hot with the 17th installment of the popular Tales of series. In it, we will explore Dahna, a mysterious world which environment changes throughout the day. A little is known but that it's a story of liberation, where we will have to defeat the planet's leader to free its people. Combat still looks stylish, but Tales of Arise added to it boost strike system that lets you chain combos in interesting ways. Visually, Tales of Arise looks pretty damn great, thanks to the atmospheric shader that mixes watercolor and anime style. In short, if you are a fan of JRPG, this is one of the E3 Games that you'll want to try asap.

Salt and Sacrifice

Now, let's take a look at an interesting PlayStation exclusive. Salt and Sacrifice is a continuation of Salt & Sanctuary – an interesting 2D Metroidvania / RPG that was inspired by Dark Souls. The sequel continues trudging on the same path, so we can expect more unnerving boss fights and unforgiving enemies. Salt and Sacrifice will revolve around hunting twisted Mages, in a seemingly unending war between the good and the evil.

The Anacrusis

Lastly, we have a sci-fi co-op shooter with a similar style to Left 4 Dead. Rather than eliminating zombies, The Anacrusis tasks us with clearing out slimy aliens from a massive starship. At our disposal, we will have a big arsenal of futuristic weapons, perks, and special skills. The game has roguelike elements, so each battle will bring unique challenges. If you thrive on chaotic and hectic battles, The Anacrusis just might give you what you need.
