PlayStation State of Play, How to Watch and What to Expect
As announced by PlayStation, their State of Play event is set to officially take place today, June 2nd. Starting at 3pm PT/6pm ET, the show is expected to showcase 30 minutes full of announcements, updates, and hopefully reveals about new and current PlayStation games. You can catch the stream live on PlayStations Twitch and Youtube channels, or you can simply stay tuned here as we have the live stream embedded below.
What to Expect from the PlayStation State of Play Event
In terms of what PlayStation has indicated regarding State of Play's event, we're not sure what to expect. In a blog post posted roughly a week ago, Senior Manager, Brett Elston stated, “We’ll have some exciting reveals from our third-party partners, plus a sneak peek at several games in development for PlayStation VR2.”.
PlayStation has confirmed Horizon: Call of the Mountain will be included in the event. With that, it's known knowledge the Final Fantasy XVI trailer is ready for preview, which means it could just be waiting for its curtain calling at the event. Most importantly, God of War Ragnarok is still set for a 2022 release, with few updates on the game's standing. Given that it's presently one of the most anticipated games of the year, hopefully, the event will offer some details.
Aside from that, Jeff Grub Tweeted speculated that “exciting reveals from our third-party partners” was aimed toward Street Fighter 6. While we hope that's the case, we also hope it extends further than just the one game. PlayStation has third-party partners with Hogwarts Legacy, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. It'd surely be a treat if those games made a surprise appearance, but we aren't long away from finding out.
