PlayStation Plus December 2021 Line-Up Confirmed

Updated on

PlayStation's next batch of festive freebies has officially been announced for PS Plus, confirming the leaks that came to light a little over a week ago. And guess what? It isn't great. But then, seeing as the Xbox Games With Gold announcement wasn't all that great either — I suppose our standards were already a little low from the get-go.

Starting from the 7th — that being next Tuesday — PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get their hands on three games: Godfall, which is an action role-playing game that received mixed to mediocre reviews on launch for PS5; Mortal Shell, a Souls-like action hit that received pretty favourable reviews, and LEGO DC Super-Villains — which basically just speaks for itself.

Of course, it isn't the line-up a lot of people had hoped for back in November. But it is, however, a neat selecting of treats with a cool fifty or so dollars shaved off with the subscription applied. All in all, a mixed bag that will surely spark a few negative comments come next week. But hey, what can you do? It is what it is.

To be fair, Mortal Shell is a pretty solid addition to the line-up. If you like your Souls games, that is.

Could be worse, could be better.

Although it's somewhat slim pickings for PS4 and PS5 users this month, a few PSVR games will, of course, remain on the carousel until January 3rd. As a reminder, those games are The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, The Persistence, and Until You Fall. After that, the library will once again go dark, and the carousel will make way for a new batch of games.

So, what's your verdict? Are you happy with this month's PlayStation Plus games? What are you hoping to see in January's line-up? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
