It’s time to unleash your inner virtuoso and embrace the vibrancy of The Lullaby of Lifea brand-new puzzle-centric chapter in which you, the player, must navigate a series of idyllic landscapes and conjure harmonious moments along the way. That’s right, 1 Simple Game has just launched its indie art piece, and it’s currently taking shape over on consoles and PC. To learn a bit more about the melody-obsessed puzzle piece, we decided to reach out to 1 Simple Game founder Paco Lara Sikorski.

Thanks for taking the time to speak with us! Tell us a bit about yourself. Who are you, and what enticed you to find a foothold in the gaming industry?

Paco: Hi, my name is Francisco Lara Sikorski and I am the founder and CEO of 1 Simple Game. We started as a digital content creation agency and by the year 2010 we did several flash games for some brands, that led in to the creation of the video game development team. From there, we expanded to also do mobile and now also PC and console.

1 Simple Game — what brought this idea into reality, and what are some of the core values that you uphold as a team?

Paco: The studio started as a spin-off to explore the idea of mobile game development as a new revenue stream of the digital content creation agency. Our main goal is to entertain via digital platforms, that has lead our exploration from flash to html5 to mobile to PC and console.

As a small team we have always liked taking new challenges so we try to participate on Game Jams; some of our current games started as a Jam project.

Let’s talk about The Lullaby of Life. Could you tell us a bit more about its story, and more importantly, what players’ involvement in it is?

Paco: The game takes place in the “Big Bang” or the creation of the Universe, in a very colorful and inert place, where you play as this blob like being called “Bombo”. Your main objective is to bring life to this new Universe.

And what inspired this musical experience? Would you say that The Lullaby of Life shares a few similarities with other games, or is it an original work of art?

Paco: One of the main aspects of the game is the music, so we worked with a music composer to create all original work and sounds for this game, each level has a very specific melody that evolves as you progress through the level.

With The Lullaby of Life finally releasing on consoles, now seems to be a great time to ask for some pro advice. Do you have any tips for those who’ve yet to embark on their own musical journeys?

Paco: The game is a very straightforward puzzle. The main thing to consider is to always look for the combination of sound, timing, color and symbol, when you master this you will master the game.

So, what’s next for 1 Simple Game? Do you have any other projects in the works, or is it a little too early to say?

Paco: We do have a new project on the works! Also a very colorful game that takes place in a different galaxy where an intergalactic war has abruptly started, but this is not an ordinary war, it's a very jelly one, where you as the player will have fun and be challenged at the same time!

Of course, we’d love to stay on top of all the latest developments, too. Are there any social channels, streams, or events that we should be penciling into our calendars?

Paco: The Lullaby of Life will be participating in Steam's upcoming Rhythm Fest on August 19. You can follow Midwest Games (@midwestgamesco) and 1 Simple Game (@1SimpleGame) on social for more ongoing updates!

Any final words for our readers?

Paco: Thanks for the time and support for indie developers to showcase our work and to have it closer to the players!

Thanks for your time, and good luck with the upcoming launch of The Lullaby of Life!
