Nintendo Treehouse Live 2022: 5 Upcoming Games You Should Know About

Nintendo announced it will host a Treehouse live presentation on August 25, 2022. The announcement created an excitement haze in the gaming community because of the new titles expected to be featured. Nintendo is well known for its signature titles like Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda, and Super Mario Bros

The presentation featured a deep dive into the fantasy RPG Harvestella and also a look into the competitive shooter series Splatoon 3. In case you missed the Nintendo Treehouse Live 2022, here are five upcoming games from the Nintendo franchise.

5. Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Compelling quests, open world travel, and combat. These are some of the deliveries to expect in October with Ubisoft's upcoming release. Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a hybrid of Ubisoft's Rabbids and Nintendo's Mario Series. The turn-based adventure game is a sequel to the 2017 Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

The game's plot follows an entity causing chaos within the galaxy. The entity called Cursa is causing the mass elimination of titular sparks by siphoning their energy while also spreading a strange darkness known as Darkness.

You get to choose a character to play from a roster of nine, including Bowser, who seeks to regain his kingdom from Cursa. Characters are customizable and can get access to unique powers after rescuing the distressed Sparks. The game retains some mechanics from its predecessor; however, you won't be seeing Rabid Yoshi or Yoshi in the list of characters. The game will be released on October 20,2022.

4. Splatoon 3

The Nintendo Treehouse Live 2022 paid particular attention to the single-player mode in its Splatoon trilogy conclusion during its Treehouse live. The upcoming Nintendo release is a third-person shooter game in an adrenaline-filled wasteland known as the Spatlands.

In the game, players can choose between battling as “Octolings:” or “Inklings”. The roster of weapons from previous prequels returns to the game with a few additions to the special and main weapons lists. Each weapon has a distinct ability. Some can cover a larger surface, but from a close combat view, while long-range weapons can be used for specific targets, the ink splat covers a minimal area.

Furthermore, the game features a swimming mode where characters can transform into octopuses or squid. This transformation allows characters to glide or swim faster through ink splats. Also, characters can use this feature to replenish their ammo faster. The game introduces an online multiplayer mode where two teams compete to fill a designated area with the most ink. The trilogy also features a new Salmon Run Mode that does not include a limited-time mode. The game is set for launch on September 9, 2022.

3. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet - Official Trailer

Game Freak's longest-running RPG installment now includes two exciting new adventures for Pokemon lovers. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet take place in a remarkably detailed open environment that features an urban setting and the wild, with no boundaries for a seamless blend.

Unlike previous installments, this series gives players the freedom to traverse the grounds since there is no storyline. Moreover, the game features a brand new list of Pokemon to discover, such as the Paldean Variant of Wooper, Cyclizar, and Fidough. At the start of the game, players must choose a Pokemon partner to begin with. This can either be Quaxly, Fuecoco, or Sprigatito. In addition, you can freely explore the different regions in the game alone or team up with three other friends in the multiplayer gameplay mode.

Nintendo introduces a reasonably new game mechanic known as “Terastallizing.” The feature allows the characters to transform into crystalline shapes temporarily. Players can use this feature as a defense tactic and gain a significant power boost. When defeating a terastallized creature, the game allows you to team up with three other players and fight it together during raid battles. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will soon be gracing your screens on November 18, 2022.

2. Harvestella

HARVESTELLA - Announcement Trailer - Nintendo Switch

Harvestella's gameplay included one of the features during Nintendo's Treehouse Live presentation. The RPG farm simulation game borrows some of its gameplay elements from Rune Factory, Final Fantasy, and Stardew Valley. The game is set in a land where four giant crystals known as Seaslight control the change in seasons.

In a period known as the Season of Death, a vile entity known as Quietus disrupts the seasonal changes, causing the death of crops and a mass migration of people from the towns. The season lasts longer each year, prompting four characters in the game to take on the task of battling the entity.

The game includes responsive gameplay mechanics where items from your farm are used to craft weapons to fight the entity. So if you want to succeed in combat, you'd better brush up on your farming skills. In addition, the game features RPG combat where players choose between being a Mage, a Shadow Walker or a Fighter. The game is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch and Windows on November 4, 2022.

1. Bayonetta 3

Bayonetta 3 - Release Date Revealed - Nintendo Switch

When Nintendo announced the release of Bayonetta 3 in 2017, it seemed like one of those over-hyped games that don't materialize much. Still, Platinum Games put in the work, and thankfully, its release date is a few months away. The game's release date is October 28, 2022.

The action-adventure game follows in the footsteps of its predecessors as an exciting hack and slash game. Players take on the role of the protagonist, Bayonetta, who displays a set of swift reflex skills in combat. Bayonetta fights her enemies using gunplay, melee attacks, and a distinct defensive tactic known as “Watch Time”. In Watch Time, all elements move slower in time, giving Bayonetta an uninterrupted execution of her combat skills.

The stylish and fearless protagonist will have to square it off with final bosses in environments layered with unique, stylish art. This series also features a “Naive Angel Mode” that allows players to conceal scenes with explicit content.
