Nintendo Releases New Fire Emblem Engage Trailer
Nintendo has released a new Fire Emblem Engage trailer, giving us a clear idea of what to expect from the storyline. The three-minute trailer details the story of the Divine Dragon while revealing new characters.
The trailer delves into the tale of its hero Alear, a Divine Dragon who is a thousand years old. Alear is in a battle with a powerful evil known as the Fell Dragon. In order to help them in battle, Alear will summon Fire Emblem characters from previous games, such as Marth and Celica. Fire Emblem Engage‘s gameplay will be similar to that of earlier games in the series. However, the upcoming game will see the addition of Emblem Rings. A previous trailer hinted that the rings might have something to do with summoning venerable figures like Marth. The new trailer makes this clear. The rings will allow units to engage in combat with lords from past games.
Summon the Emblems, seize your destiny!

At the beginning of the trailer, we see the male version of Alear holding his dying mother and pleading with him to find “all 12 rings.” Therefore, we can conclude that 12 character cameos from earlier games will be returning.
Additionally, the trailer strongly suggests that Alear's plot will involve both nice, blue-colored summonable heroes known as Emblems and evil, red-colored summonable heroes. It also seems possible for heroes like Marth and surprisingly even Alear to join the dark side. A part of the trailer gives us a sneak peek at the world of Elyos, where the game is set. It also introduces the characters, allies, and enemies alike that Alear will encounter.
Nintendo first announced the game in September last year. Fire Emblem Engage will launch on Jan. 20, 2023, for Nintendo Switch. Preorders for the Divine Edition are ongoing.
