Nintendo has confirmed that a new Nintendo Direct presentation will take place next month. The next Nintendo Direct livestream will be unique as it is not about video games. The next livestream will entirely focus on The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The announcement was made via the official Nintendo Twitter account.

According to the announcement, the presentation will feature the final trailer for the highly-anticipated movie. Hover, it is unclear if there will be any other information or updates.

Nintendo’s tweet has emphasized that the Direct focuses solely on the movie and will not include any game information. The presentation will take place on March 9 at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET / 10 p.m. GMT.

In addition to the announcement, Nintendo and Illumination have given fans a sneak peek through new artwork. The artwork features Donkey Kong, Princess Peach, Mario, Toad, and Cranky Kong competing on Rainbow Road. Mario is unaware of the Blue Shell chasing him from behind in a thrilling twist.

So far, Nintendo has released two major trailers for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The first trailer premiered in October and introduced Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom. Additionally, the trailer was the first time we could hear Chris Pratt's interpretation of the iconic plumber. The second trailer in November revealed the voices of Peach and Luigi for the first time and a racing scene inspired by Mario Kart. A Super Bowl ad for the movie featured a new rendition of the theme music from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

Illumination, the studio behind the Despicable Me franchise and Minions, is producing the movie. The movie has already generated significant buzz with its star-studded cast, including Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, and Charlie Day as Luigi. The Super Mario Bros. Movie is set to be released on April 7.
