Meta Quest’s second annual Gaming Showcase was held today, and it brought the hype by announcing several original VR games. All of which are slated to release within the next year for the Oculus Quest 2. So expectedly there was a lot of hype buzzing around the VR community for what’s to come.
Meta Quest also upped the ante this year by combining the event with a massive sale on the Meta Quest Store. This allows gamers a discounted chance to buy and play the original game before the sequels of it drop within the next year. I know that must have you wondering what sequels I’m referring to? Well, you can find it all in the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase re-post here, as well as a summary of all the new games to come.
Biggest Game Announcements at Meta Quest Showcase
Ghostbusters VR was easily the biggest surprise, which came with an even greater announcing surprise, being unveiled by Mark Zuckerberg. Even if Zuckerberg is there only for the extra excitement, the trailer for the game is showing a lot of promise for an excellent VR game.
Pulling equal excitement was “The Mercenaries” mode, which is now available in Resident Evil 4. It’s free for original owners of the game and is looking to add fresh content in a fun-timed challenge survival mode to VR.
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution was one exciting sequel announced at the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase. The sequel is looking to be an even darker and more difficult follow-up, with even more conflicting choices to make. With that, another sequel was announced, Red Matter 2. The second installment look’s to pick up right where the last title left off. Which was a nail-biting cliffhanger, that we need answers for!
A number of additional exciting titles were also revealed, which can be found below:
- Among Us VR
- Cities: VR
- NFL Pro Era
- Espire 2
- Moss: Book II
