New Sifu Mod Allows Players to Recreate the Legendary Neo/Agent Smith Battle From the Matrix

Players may relive the legendary clash between Neo and Agent Smith(s) from The Matrix Reloaded is a new mode for action brawler Sifu.

Sifu, a brawler launched in 2022, is heavily inspired by classic martial arts films. The new update now allows players to enjoy playing as characters mold, a less traditional introduction into the action franchise.

The Matrix and Sifu are both influenced by the same movies, therefore, mixing the two seems natural. One developer has done just that. Halfmillz, a Nexus Mods user, shared a version on Twitter that substitutes the male player character with a model that looks like Neo from the Matrix series.

 

 

In addition to the player skin, Halfmillz reskinned the game's adversaries, switching them all with Agent Smith to reenact a scene from The Matrix Reloaded from 2003.

This incredible mod adds Neo and Agent Smith to your game.  Additionally, it includes the iconic Matrix green filter and movie sound effects. This isn't official DLC, but it's as close to it as you can get.

This isn't the first time Keanu Reeves' visage has appeared in a video game. He plays Johnny Silverhand, an important NPC in Cyberpunk 2077. Furthermore, Reeves has previously brought Neo to video games. The most recent is in The Matrix Awakens, a Matrix-themed Unreal Engine 5 demo available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Previously, developers have created other Matrix games, such as The Matrix Online and Enter the Matrix. However, the developer used models from an older game called The Matrix: Path of Neo. Shiny Entertainment and Atari released the game in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox.

While the visuals of The Matrix aren't out of place in the slick brawler, Sifu's original inspirations may have come from more simple martial arts films like Oldboy, Blade of the Immortal, and Police Story. 

Sifu is a kung-fu game that players can enjoy on PlayStation 4, PS5, and Microsoft Windows. Halfmillz's mod is available for download via Nexus Mods.
