To celebrate the global release of Disney's Lightyear, Mojang has rustled up a fresh batch of themed DLC for Minecraft.

Although the latest Pixar movie has barely scratched the surface of the box office, events are already beginning to come to life. One of these, of course, comes in the shape of the Lightyear DLC, a five-piece episodic journey that sees players going through a series of quests as the prominent space ranger himself.

“In the Lightyear DLC, you get to play through Buzz's origin story and help him navigate an alien planet after an unfortunate crash landing,” the game preview reads. “You can play through five missions as this Academy-trained hero, including a hostile jungle, a swamp, and a mine, as well as various alien settlements. Throughout each mission, you have to navigate the terrain while fighting enemies and several bosses using various gadgets. Between missions, you get to fly different aircraft and must avoid obstacles to safely get to your next objective.”

To access the DLC, players must be using the Bedrock Edition of the game. To expand on that, players must be using the cross-platform version, rather than the vanilla one on Windows, iOS, and Linux. Once aboard, you can purchase the DLC on the marketplace for a total of 1,340 Minecraft Coins. Alternatively, you can pay $9.99 for the right amount of coins.

On top of the episodic adventure, owners will also receive a number of Lightyear-themed perks and cosmetics. So, what are you waiting for, space ranger? You can go ahead and launch your journey from the marketplace today.
