Microsoft Flight Simulator Is Now VR-Compatible

Updated on

As if piloting an airbus to Sydney wasn't realistic enough with Microsoft's Flight Simulator. Now, thanks to the latest free update, you can take flight with your VR headset, too. That's probably as close as you're going to get to physically flying a plane around the globe — unless you're an actual pilot, of course.

Compatible with all “OpenXR-compliant headsets”, this VR update should work smoothly on your Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Valve Index. Also, as well as the introduction of VR compatability, the latest update also shoves in a couple of extra features — free of charge. With a couple of additional training missions, live weather enhancements and challenges (as well as a reel of patches to the base-game), the update works wonders for flight fans.

If you're interested in seeing a full list of notes on the latest Sim Update 2, you can see them here. But, if you're simply hungering for a realistic flight, then we strongly suggest you patch your game and hit the skies. There's no time like the present.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is available on Windows, Xbox One & Xbox Series X/S.
