March 2022: 5 Video Games You Definitely Shouldn’t Skip

Updated on

Well, the fatigue is definitely beginning to wear off after February's endless flurry of releases. Excluding Elden Ring from the table, the month is just about ready to wrap up, meaning we can now draw our focus over to March. Fortunately, as luck would have it, Spring isn't exactly short on major releases, either. In fact, it's equally as filled, and contains a similar amount of highly anticipated worlds based over all available platforms, both old and new.

As we load up and shelve a whole bunch of games from February, let us get to work on stockpiling a few essentials that are due to launch over the next five weeks. If you, like us, are on the market for some must-buys, then be sure to add the following five to your cart. Believe us when we say: you won't want to miss these latest trends.

5. Ghostwire: Tokyo

Ghostwire: Tokyo - PlayStation Showcase 2021: "Hannya" Official Gameplay Trailer | PS5

Ghostwire: Tokyo was one of those titles that popped up from out of the blue with two smoking barrels, using its innovations to usher in a new generation of hype for all to bear witness to. As it stands today, the first-person shooter idles at the peak of intrigue, sitting contently on most—if not all—notebooks of ever gamer and critic in the community.

Taking a fistful of herbs and spices from the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 and Dishonored 2, Ghostwire: Tokyo rustles up a futuristic open-world metropolis for players to both traverse and tamper with. With that, you can go ahead and expect plenty of supernatural abilities, florescent cityscapes, and a whole lot of rummaging around the remains of a collapsed society.

Ghostwire: Tokyo launches on March 25, 2022 on PlayStation 5, and PC.

4. Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 - Announcement Trailer | PS5

The next lap of the Gran Turismo circuit is right around the corner, meaning millions will be gearing up to tackle the next generation of supercars and courses over the coming weeks. With that, of course, comes another heap of special events, championships, as well as a fleshed out campaign with double the assets and triple the action.

Although Forza Horizon 5 has hogged the spotlight over the last few months, racing fans are pretty much ready to divvy up the next contender in the genre. And honestly, there couldn't be a better star to put behind the wheel as we kickstart 2022 than Gran Turismo 7. So, if you're big on racing games and enjoy the thrill of the chase, then be to sure to pick up Polyphony Digital's upcoming game.

Gran Turismo 7 will launch on March 4, 2022 on PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

3. Babylon's Fall

Babylon's Fall - TGA 2021 Trailer | PS5, PS4

After falling from the spotlight a little while back, Square Enix finally managed to pluck Babylon's Fall from the bottom of the barrel, giving it a new release window for March 2022. Although very little has been given away since its initial announcement, that hasn't stopped us from wanting to uncover more of its content before testing its deep and dreary waters.

Babylon's Fall is a four-player hack and slash role-playing game, nudging the emphasis toward monster-infested dungeons and the likes. Complete with a rich narrative and a heavy focus on combat, the Platinum Games' rising star will look to introduce a new world swirling with opportunities. So, if you enjoyed NieR:Automata, in particular, then be sure to swing on by and pick this one up next month, as it borrows one or two ingredients from the same cache.

Babylon's Fall launches on March 3, 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

2. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Borderlands has always been a series that's faired well in our books, and we honestly can't slate it for even the most inexcusable flaw. And so, when Tiny Tina's Wonderlands carved its way to the spotlight last year, muscle memory kicked in, and we immediately fell in love with the mysterious world we were being presented with.

True to the Borderlands formula, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is set to feature a trove of high-powered guns, a boatload of loot, and a plethora of wired and wonderful enemies to boot. Taking a heavy dose of inspiration from D&D and a thread of other tabletop RPGs, the Tiny Tina spin-off will shape up to deliver one of the biggest and boldest shooter-looter entries to date.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands launches on March 25, 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

1. Shadow Warrior 3

Shadow Warrior 3 - Full Gameplay Trailer | PS5, PS4

The long-awaited sequel to the 2016 first-person shooter Samurai Warrior 2 is finally on the cards, looking four times as epic as its predecessor. True to its original style, the third chapter virtually bleeds high-powered weaponry and bullet-riddled warfare, both of which are wrapped in layers of ultraviolet and crimson red.

Coming to consoles on March 1, 2022, Shadow Warrior 3 will pave the way for a new era of shooters, effectively setting the benchmark for others to overcome. A bold statement, for sure, but one that we also think rings true.

Shadow Warrior 3 will launch on March 1, 2022 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
