LCS Playoffs Upper Bracket Round One Results

Leauge Championship Series (LCS) playoffs began yesterday April 2nd, with two of the top teams meeting for round one action. Cloud9 and 100 Thieves faced off in a best of five series on Summoners Rift which only reinforced why 100 Thieves were last year's champs. The reigning LCS champions swept Cloud9 in the first round of playoffs three to nil. This means 100 Thieves move forward in the winner's bracket and Cloud9 needs to fight against the Golden Guardians next week in the loser bracket in order to keep their LCS championship dreams alive.

In all facets of their game, 100 Thieves were simply shutting down Cloud 9 across the board, with a special focus on shutting down C9's best player, Summit. In a post-game interview 100 Thieves, Huhi said “We just think that Summit is their win condition, and he’s kind of playing one vs five versus us, Ssumday could even take (Summit) one-vs-one, but this is a five-vs-five game, so we were teaching him a lesson.”.

Evil Geniuses vs Team Liquid

LCS upper bracket playoffs finished today, April 3rd with Evil Geniuses matching up against Team Liquid in a best of five series. It was a close race, with the Evil Geniuses leading two games to one with the potential to claim the series in the fourth bout. However, Team Liquid had other plans and ended up coming back, pushing the game to a fifth and final conquest that they ultimately dominated. With the win, Team Liquid secured their next match in the winner's bracket against 100 Thieves, which will take place on April 16th.

Evil Geniuses on the other hand fall into the loser bracket and will face off against FlyQuest on April 10th. Be sure to catch the live stream for when it airs, as there could be some major upsets.
