Layers of Fear Demo Announced

Published

 on

Bloober Team has lifted the veil on a demo for the upcoming remake of Layers of Fear.

If there's any one particular thing Bloober Team knows how to create, it's an atmospheric horror game. It's a darn good thing then, that the studio is not only in charge of the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, but the reimagined iteration of Layers of Fear, too. And as luck would have it, the team has revealed a short five-day demo for the latter—an event that will take place between May 15th at 8am PT, and May 20th at 3pm PT.

There is a slight downside to this news, however, which is the game's PC exclusivity. Although billed as an Xbox, PlayStation, and PC title, the demo will only be available for those playing on PC. Unfortunately, it hasn't been said yet whether or not there'll be a console edition coming to the surface, either. One can only hope, though.

Layers of Fear Release Date

So, what is Layers of Fear, and what will the upcoming instalment bring to the acclaimed IP? Well, to put it short, the latest entry will serve as a remake/reimagining of the first two psychedelic survival-horror games, as well as a gateway for a third game, which has yet to be explored in full.

As it currently stands, Bloober Team is working towards a rather optimistic June 2023 launch. That said, with no final release date set in stone and only a few weeks to go, this seems highly unlikely at this point. But then, who knows? Maybe Bloober Team will pull something out of the bag at the last minute?

So, what's your take? Will you taking the opportunity to play the Layers of Fear demo when it releases later this month? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.
