Merge Fall Guys and Meet Your Maker, and you’ll have yourself King of Meat. At first glance, the name of the game can be misleading. But it shows a lot of promise from the trailer, and the Steam store page is already out now. If anything, you can prepare yourself for some genuine belly laughs and cutthroat competition when the gameplay picks up pace. Here’s everything we know about King of Meat so far.

What is King of Meat?

Contendors

King of Meat is an upcoming 3D four-player, co-op, hack and slash, dungeon crawler game. It’ll feature melee-focused combat, using hacking and slashing gameplay to thwart the competition. But you’ll also navigate some tricky platforming sections, along with solving neat puzzles to be the first to cross the finish line. All the action takes place in the titular King of Meat game show, where players show off their best skills. You’ll compete against online players for gold, but you can also create your own dungeons using the game’s creative tools.

Story

For now, we have yet to receive the official story description. All we know is that players will be escaping to the mystical world of Loregok, where monsters like trolls, skeletons, dragons, and more are the norm. It’s a world of high fantasy brought to life in vibrant glitz and glamour. However, corporate commercialism has also birthed a cutthroat battle competition called King of Meat. Crafted purely for the entertainment of the powers that be, the contenders of the competition may not quite enjoy the same level of pleasure as they are forced to hack and slash one another for the crown. And so, limbs will be chopped off, and swinging pendulums will slice you in half. The question is, can you survive the wildest game show where “you are the entertainment?”

The King of Meat gameshow challenges players to take control of ridiculous monsters and battle them out against one another for the crown. Players will compete against one another in vibrant dungeon masterpieces created by the community. The dungeons will push you to tap into your inner creativity and beat the puzzles other players have come up with.

You’ll attack contenders in the dungeons, vying for the King of the Meat crown. Thanks to a ton of customization options, you can style your character to stand out from the competition. Moreover, you can take a break from the more intense combat and platforming sections of the game to design your own dungeons. From trolls to skeletons and other ridiculously-designed creatures, you’ll control your favorite monsters and trailblaze your way to victory.

The King of Meat gameplay focuses on survival of the fittest. It throws you into the pits of conniving dungeons to battle it out with other players. The dungeons are arenas for the King of Meat game show, which takes place in the fictional and exciting world of Loregok. You’ll have corporate sponsors who demand constant wins across increasingly challenging levels. As you progress, you’ll unlock new cosmetics, weapons, skills, abilities, dances, and more decorative items. Your decorations will allow you to design dungeons that are unique and expressive.

In Create Mode, you’ll grapple with an intuitive logic system that lets you design the most devious dungeons. According to the game’s website, the mode will feature an “extensive suite of in-game tools.” As a creator, your goal will be to create the most conniving traps and ridiculous monsters that challenge and allow other players to have a great time. Furthermore, the upcoming game will feature multiplayer action. You can round up three other players to join you in four-player, co-op mode. The mode will give you weapons, gear, and sleek moves to thwart the competition.

Overall, you’ll be battling waves of monsters in a bid to claim the crown. Combat will feature hack-and-slash gameplay in explosive melee action. You can string together combos that show off your best moves. With the game’s easy-to-pick-up, hard-to-master combat, every gamer will be able to craft a play style that works for them. With each win, you’ll unlock rewards that grant you more opportunities to play more complex levels in the game.
