January Sale 2023: 5 Best Xbox Series X|S Deals

2023 is finally here, which means the January sale is in full swing over on the Microsoft Store. With that, what better way to spend all of that leftover change from the holiday period than to invest in some of the latest Xbox Series X|S game deals that are currently bulking out the shelves?
From now until the beginning of February, you can snag a treasure trove of bargains on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, some of which come preloaded with questionably generous 70% discounts. But in case you're wondering which deals to pick up this winter, then look no further. Ready to spend? Here are five essentials for your basket.
5. Little Nightmares II
Priced at $9.89 down from $29.99, how could you say no to one of Tarsier Studios' best survival-horror games of all time? It seems that, if you're a fan of either Studio Ghibli or just about anything even remotely Tim Burton-esque, then you'll definitely find something to like with this absolute monster of an indie-led horror. And for such a low price, it'd be an insult to discard it at this point.
Set in a world of darkness and despair, play as a young child named Mono and journey through the Pale City, a cold and misty locale that's on the brink of collapse due to an overpowering radio tower that brainwashes its citizens. With the help of Six, a yellow raincoat-sporting accomplice, you must learn to adapt to the twisted events that shape the metropolis and find a route leading to safety. Immersive? Check. Intense? Check. Unmissable? Check, check, and check.
4. Watch Dogs Legion
Ubisoft's Watch Dogs Legion is a third-person action-adventure game that transports you to London, a futuristic neo-punk world in which hacking is commonplace and corruption fuels the hierarchy. As a member of Dedsec, an underground organization with the means to disband the corporations that pull the city's strings, you must learn to revolt and propel a rebellion into a new era, one that acts on its own accord.
Like the first two entries in the Watch Dogs series, Legion centers its gameplay around a unique blend of stealth-based combat, citywide exploration, and a wide variety of hacking mini-games. Its only major difference that sets it apart from its predecessors, however, is its ability to let you convert and play as anyone in the whole of London. For a limited time only, this enormous sandbox universe can be picked up for just $11.99, which is significantly cheaper than its original $59.99 tag.
3. Dead Rising Triple Bundle Pack
The all-time favorite zombie-infused hack-and-slash saga has, at long last, been thrown together to make up Dead Rising Triple Bundle Pack, a jam-packed feast that boasts the first two highly acclaimed entries plus the Off The Record DLC. In each of the three chapters, players can expect to delve deep into hundreds of hours of sandbox-based entertainment, most of which involves having to hack through thousands of zombies and learning to survive the apocalypse.
The goal behind Dead Rising is straightforward: survive three days out in the wild until a rescue chopper swoops down to save you and any folk you choose to accommodate. How you spend the 72 hours down in Willamette Mall is entirely up to you, meaning the world will be your oyster for as long as you choose to breathe air and rack up corpses. From today until the end of January, you can pick up the Dead Rising Triple Bundle Pack for $14.87.
2. Metro: Last Light Redux
Metro: Last Light Redux is a highly acclaimed first-person shooter that stems from 4A Games, a firm best known for its lineage of action-packed survival horrors. Last Light Redux, which serves as a polished remake of the 2013 original, reignites the tale of Artyom, a Russian soldier who, along with the whole of Moscow, is forced to retreat into the Metro after a nuclear war destroys the surface and turns it into a uninhabitable wasteland.
At the time of writing, Metro: Last Light Redux is available at a discounted price of $2.99, which makes it one of the best money-saving deals on the current market. Therefore, if you've yet to experience one of the noughties' best first-person shooter series, and just so happen to have a few pennies going spare, then at least consider grabbing 4A Games' most popular triple-As to date.
1. Sherlock Holmes Essential Bundle
If you're all for the idea of filling the boots of one of literature's most beloved investigators, then you'll definitely want to consider picking up the Sherlock Holmes Essential Bundle, a triple pack that boasts the best of Holmes and Watson's whirlwind adventures across both the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Included in the trusty cabinet of curiousoties is Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, and Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter, three mystery-heavy tales that translate all of Holmes' most daring exploits into full-fledged playable episodic memoirs.
At its heart, Sherlock Holmes is a mystery saga, and one that takes you over the paving stones of one of Britain's most prolific figureheads. As players, you will follow in Holmes' lofty footsteps, using a glimmer of street smarts and a handy accomplice to navigate a thread of unsolved cases that plague the back alleys of the London boroughs. There's action, stealth, and more thought-provoking puzzles than you could dare shake a stick at. And the best part is, the whole series is currently available for just $29.99, reduced from $100.
