It Is Time To Talk About Breakwaters

It looks like “Soaring Pixels Games” will soon be releasing the independent, adventure/survival game, “Breakwaters” for PC and various consoles (so far, unannounced). The majestic ocean is full of mythical Titans and monsters. It is a deep place, so there also has to be valuable treasure. The release date is announced online as “Q2 2021.”

Breakwater:

A barrier that is built out into a body of water to protect a harbor, anchorage, or marina basin from a force of waves.

Gameplay:

What we know about “Breakwaters” is the main character will encounter Titans and mythological creatures. The ocean is deep and you will use the ocean to your advantage with your special abilities. The Titans can be as tall as a mountain and you have to calm the seas. It is your duty because that is how the game script was written.

Travel the world with multiple biomes and creatures, exploring dangerous islands and ocean depths. Discover creatures and rare treasures. You can help humans and the creatures, collect rare resources, craft new items, and earn items and artifacts that control the ocean.

Your abilities include building durable structures that hold back/divert the water. Or you can craft crystals to bend the water to your will. To that, I vehemently say, “I can already imagine gamers trying to be the first person to defeat the entire game to brag. Well, that is what game testers are for.

Procedural Pathways in Breakwaters

In a sort of way, “Breakwaters” is similar to “Minecraft” when you can build your own structures, but there is more to the gameplay than just directing the water with constructed blocks. Your character can actually chop down trees.

Based off of looking at the gameplay, you can swim in the ocean where there are many fish, drive boats, throw what appears like water bombs, and collect fish. Also, areas the ocean and the land have a glowing effect.

Build and customize your own boat. Be the reason why your boat survives the tough weather conditions and dangerous monsters.

Types of Boats:

  • Raft
  • Medium boat
  • Heavy boat
  • Glider boat

There Are Contraptions:

  • Sails
  • Crystal motors
  • Cannons
  • Storage crates
  • Grabber arms
  • Fishing lure crane
Breakwaters : Large Islands

There is also an online co-op option, but as “Breakwaters” get closer to the release date, I'm sure we will know additional information about that. The walls that you build will contain the ocean and stop the waves. Take a no-nonsense approach with helping people build the damaged areas and survive from your resources, trade with a fisherman at ports, and voyage across the world through deadly storms.

Why You Should Play This Game?

Did you step on a diamond thinking about why you should play “Breakwaters”? You can be in charge of the entire ocean, beyond the abilities of a lifeguard, beyond the abilities of a shark, and I doubt you will run out of motion like the Titanic.

While the different creatures on the island will showcase inevitable attacks, you can dodge them and attack back. When you jump, it is dramatized, causing you to jump higher than the average person.

The water bomb looking weapon you will be holding are the shape of raw coconuts, which can be as hard as icebreakers. There will be background music that will have you more engaged.

Well, why should you buy the game? Some people enjoy watching hardcore gamers play video games online like on YouTube or Twitch.

After the game is released, the odds are, someone may show off that they completed the entire game, but only then, you would want to play it. It is not like a movie where you cannot see the main character do different options.
