Is Mortal Kombat 12 About to Be Announced?

Mortal Kombat 12 could very well find its way to the spotlight later this week. Apparently.

It was inevitable, a twelfth chapter to the incredibly popular Mortal Kombat saga. But alas, in spite of WB Games accidentally letting news of Mortal Kombat 12 slip during a call with investors earlier this year, there has since been no credible information to support it. Or at least, not until now, anyway.

As it turns out, someone who's rather popular within the Mortal Kombat realm has made a post that suggests NetherRealm could very well tease the overdue project soon. And while it doesn't come lathered in concrete evidence, the gist of the post remains clear — an announcement is imminent, and it's supposedly heading our way at some point this week. It's unclear when it'll come knocking, though a seven-day time frame isn't all that bad, either.

Of course, there are numerous reasons why we should take this post with a grain of salt, mainly the fact that it doesn't stem from WB Games or NetherRealm Studios. But if what the MK superfan is saying is true, then we could very well catch a glimpse of the next instalment by Sunday of this week.

Whatever the case may be, WB Games has already made it clear that the next chapter in the series will be coming out in 2023. With that in mind, given the fact that we're already pushing into the second quarter of the year, a formal announcement would make sense right about now. But again, only time will tell on that one.
