Avalanche Software's upcoming role-playing game, Hogwarts Legacy, has been high on our watch lists for a good two years now. Ever since the game was first announced under the Portkey Games banner in September 2020, both Harry Potter fans and die-hard wizarding folk have been scrubbing the web for any potential leaks and rumors.

What we do know is this: Hogwarts Legacy is set in the late 1800s. As a fresh-faced student, you will be able to create a witch or wizard and create your own story. This, of course, means plenty of classes, familiar locations, and an entire nexus of spells to master. Basically, it's everything fans of the franchise have been requesting from Warner Bros. for a good two decades.

The good news is, Hogwarts Legacy is set to release in 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Specifically, the game is set to release ‘Holiday 2022', according to the latest State of Play reveal.

Fortunately, Avalanche Software has brought another slice of gameplay to the table to keep hungry fans on tenterhooks. Revealed today at an official Hogwarts Legacy State of Play event, the eagle-eyed developer has shed light on a new round of features. And boy, what a presentation it was.

From the moment you're put in the shoes of a fifth year student, you're given an entire world to explore. From classes to customizable rooms and attire, hidden dungeons to fast-paced underground duels—Hogwarts Legacy brings the lot. And at long last, after years of begging for such an ideal homage to the beloved franchise, the game will come to life later this year. So, expect big things in 2022, because Avalanche is going all out to make this one a journey to remember.
