Hogwarts Legacy Has Been Delayed to February 2023

Updated on

Warner Bros. recently took to Twitter to share the update that Hogwarts Legacy, despite having original plans to launch this year, has been delayed to February 10, 2023.

Of course, this doesn't come as much of a surprise, seeing as the developer hasn't given much away since its official State of Play showcase earlier this year. That said, it's definitely a kick to the teeth, as this is in fact the second delay the game has faced since being announced. But anyway, it's still coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC — just not for another six months. Joy.

“The team is excited for you to play,” the tweet reads. “But we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience.” Basically, it's the same message that was posted before, which of course doesn't give followers a whole lot of insight into the issues it's facing.

In this day and age, a delay or two is expected, what with games striving to become bigger and bolder. Hogwarts Legacy, sadly, is just another link in the chain. Plus, it goes without saying that, with a franchise as big as Harry Potter — everything must be nailed to a tee. And so, it's a bitter pill to swallow, but one that must be digested, anyway.

It's Not All Doom and Gloom

Although this is a bit of a rough day for Potter fans, a consolation prize can still be found within the roots of Two Point Campus, at least. Again, worlds apart, but probably the best thing players will get until the beginning of next year. And if you enjoy sandbox games with a high school twist, then you'll feel right at home. So, take it or leave it, I guess.
