Hideo Kojima Has Teased Two New Working Titles

Hideo Kojima has shed light on two new working titles. The question is: will either of them be the long-awaited sequel to Death Stranding? Well, that's the thing.

As part of a round-off segment with Japanese publication Famitsu, Kojima mentioned that two new projects were under the hammer. Now, whether they're both video games or not is another question. Let's not forget that Kojima was, in fact, looking to branch out to other forms of media a fair while back. And so, while something as simple as a Death Stranding sequel would appear to be the most likely, it's definitely not set in stone. It is, however, on Kojima's to-do list, after the first game amassed such a large profit back in 2020.

In the update, Kojima went on to say that one of the projects being developed is “big”, whereas the other is “new” and “exciting”. Unfortunately, that's really all he gave away, which of course means fans are left to second guess. But then, going by the rumors that have plagued the internet forums as of late, a sequel to Death Stranding doesn't seem all that far-fetched in reality.

Norman Reedus himself confirmed Death Stranding 2 a little while back.

But then, we could be light-years from the ballpark…

Of course, the “new” project could very well be referring to the previous statement about branching out. TV, film, streaming platforms, you name it. A bunch of things could be on the table, and knowing Kojima, it's unlikely we'll catch a glimpse of any of it until the last minute. Either way, it's great to see Kojima Productions back at the helm for another swing at the podium.

So, is a brand new IP being brewed from behind the scenes? Are you expecting a sequel to 2019's Death Stranding? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
