Gotham Knights Release Date Finally Confirmed

The developers of Gotham Knights have announced the game’s release date, with the new Batman-related game set to hit stores by the end of the year.

Warner Bros Montreal is the creator of this new DC Comics-inspired video game. The same studio also created Batman: Arkham Origins, the prequel to Rocksteady's hugely popular Batman action-adventure series. 

The game will depict a Gotham City in which Batman is no longer active. Therefore, his previous proteges (Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood) must rise to the challenge of battling his renowned adversaries. 

Fans have been wondering when the game would be released. The developers postponed the game's release several times and have been quiet about it for quite some time. Some were even concerned that it wouldn't happen in 2022 after all, as the game would plainly require a significant amount of time to complete and polish.

The developers originally announced in August 2020 that the game would launch in 2021. The developers of the game postponed the release date to an unannounced date in 2022 early last year. The creators cited a need for “additional time to offer the best possible experience for players.”

Gotham Knights will officially launch on October 25, 2022, as announced on the official Twitter account.

Will Gotham Knights be a sequel of Batman: Arkham Origins?

Despite the fact that WB Montreal worked on Batman: Arkham Origins and various other Arkham franchise tie-ins, Gotham Knights will not be a sequel to Arkham Knight. As far as we know, Batman will not be a playable character in the new game.

The tale of the game takes place in its own world, apart from the Arkham games. The ending of Arkham Knight and the beginning of Gotham Knights have some similarities.  Both games revolve around Batman being taken out of action. However, Gotham Knights is very much its own game.

Rocksteady, the Arkham series' principal developer, is currently working on a new game Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League. The new game under development, unlike Gotham Knights, is part of the Arkham canon.

Gotham Knights will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, and Xbox One on October 25th.
