Gotham Knights Has Been Delayed to 2022

Updated on

Sad news, DC fans. Gotham Knights, which was originally due to launch later this year, has been pushed back to 2022. Over the official Twitter handle for the game, Warner Bros. Games Montreal supported their decision by saying that the upcoming game needs more time in order to “deliver the best possible experience for players.” However, in light of this, the developer has made it perfectly clear that fans can expect some exclusive content over the coming months. So, enough to whet our appetites at least.

“Gotham Knights will now launch worldwide in 2022,” the announcement says. “We are giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players. Thank you to our amazing fans for your tremendous support of Gotham Knights. We look forward to showcasing more of the game in the coming months.”

While it may seem rather daunting that we have to hang fire for another year, it does seem rather positive that the game is being given the best possible treatment before hitting the shelves. That's almost a rarity in this day and age with some triple-A titles, so we're more than prepared to give Warner Bros. the space they need to cross the i's and dot the t's.

“Batman is dead. A new expansive, criminal underworld has swept the streets of Gotham City,” the official description reads. “It is now up to the Batman Family; Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin; to protect Gotham, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations, you must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save the streets from descent into chaos.”

Gotham Knights will launch on Xbox One/Series, PlayStation 4/5, and PC. You can follow the updates for the game via the official Twitter handle here.
