God of War: Ragnarok Could Release This June, Apparently

Published

 on

There's one thing we can all be sure of. God of War: Ragnarok is, unless shoved back due to unforeseen circumstances, coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this year. That much is true, and Santa Monica Studio has gone as far as confirming this on several occasions. However, as far as an actual concrete release window goes, that's where the trail unfortunately goes dark.

That being said, a Chilean retailer has been spotted casting something that only seems to draw a few million eyes. A release window, no doubt. A June release window, at that. Now, whether or not this is just a placeholder is another question, though it is the first shred of evidence that the game is, in fact, launching in 2022.

The problem here is, with a game as hyped up as God of War: Ragnaroka release window wouldn't usually come out less than four months before the actual day. Typically, triple-A releases will receive upwards of a year in advance before going live. Ragnarok, on the other hand, hasn't been given diddly squat since its announcement.

Pass the salt, if you'd be so kind…

Take it with a dash of salt at this point. Know that, if the game does, in fact, come out in June, then PlayStation will have to confirm it pretty soon. Speaking of which, a State of Play event has been rumored to be going ahead in March. Chances are, either Sony or Santa Monica Studio will shed light on the question then. Who knows.

Whatever the case may be, it's a slight comfort to know that the next leg of the journey is imminent. And while June is stretching just a smidgen, it's still a possibility worth entertaining.
