Games on Steam is a weekly installment that tackles the latest and greatest Indie games from this popular platform. Today, we'll learn how to wield a techno-sword, find our way out of the creepy soviet building, learn how to survive in a chaotic noodle-armed shooter, and more.

Narita Boy

To begin, we have an excellent retro Metroidvania called Narita Boy. In it, the world of popular video game and reality become intertwined, and it's your job to save the world from corrupted Stallions. Luckily, Narita Boy is equipped with a powerful techno-sword that cuts through them like butter. The game has amazing hand-drawn animations and a synth soundtrack that give you the feeling like you are playing on an old-school arcade in a local mall. Narita Boy is also filled with epic boss fights that are very satisfying to complete. If you are looking for a breeze of nostalgia, this game might blow you away.

From the Darkness

It's been a while since we've written about something traumatic, so From the Darkness is here to make things right. This is a psychological horror set in an abandoned Soviet apartment. Your grandfather died recently, and you've decided to take his family album, only to find that something terrifying lurks in the darkness. The game immediately sets up a tense claustrophobic atmosphere that doesn't let go till the end. Although a bit short, From the Darkness definitely delivers, so we had to include it in this edition of Games on Steam.

Legends of IdleOn

Here we have an interesting take on an idle MMO. Legends of IdleOn lets you create and control a unique group of heroes. To make them work best at their best together, it's important to pick complimentary classes. The game gives you the option to engage how much you want, so you can go from micromanaging your adventurers to letting them fight their own battles while you are gone. Create guilds with other players, solve hundreds of quests, and fight badass bosses in one of the best idler games around.

Element TD 2

Element TD 2 is an entertaining multiplayer tower defense game built from a popular WarCraft 3 mod. The game lets you build 44 towers, each with its own unique strengths and weaknesses. To make the best out of your situation, you will have to build smart, anticipate incoming waves, and learn from your mistakes. You will also have to cooperate with 7 other players to create powerful synergies that will melt the enemies and destroy powerful bosses. So far, Element TD 2 has 28 missions that will be challenging enough even for the veterans. If you are a fan of the genre, this is the one game that you shouldn't miss.

Rounds

Lastly, we have a simple but very addicting PVP rogue-lite shooter. In it, you take control of a noodle-arm creature with an itch to assert dominance. You will be tested against another player through a series of Rounds, which progressively get more wild and intense. Losing a round will grant you a new upgrade that will help you counter your opponent. All in all, this is a very fun casual shooter that would be even better if it allowed for bigger teams.
