Games on Steam: Rolling to the Spring
Games on Steam is a weekly installment that tackles the latest and greatest Indie games from this popular platform. Today, we will learn how to create a badass e-sports team, how to hit other balls with a loaf of bread, and what zombies love to drink on the weekend.
Foregone
To warm things up, we have an engaging action platformer from Big Blue Bubble. Foregone puts you in the role of a super-soldier who has to defend the city of Calgan against the mighty Harrow. This is a fast-paced and challenging game with immersive visuals and epic boss fights. One of Foregone's greatest strengths is also a huge collection of weapons that will affect your playstyle. If you enjoy games like Dead Cells and hacking through the waves of undead, you should give it a chance.
Teamfight Manager
Teamfight Manager is a simulation management hybrid in which you coach your own e-sports team. It's your job to make it grow by analyzing enemies' characteristics and using smart strategies. There are dozens of champions to choose from, each with its abilities and ultimate that can synergize with other team members. After fights, you can choose to train or trade team members, as well as change their equipment. In short, Teamfight Manager is a very engaging and deep simulator that is as fun as it's challenging to master.
Urtuk: The Desolation
After a lengthy early-access, Urtuk was just released to wide acclaim. This is a solid turn-based RPG, set in an open-world dark fantasy environment. The battles are very dynamic, and there are a lot of environmental factors that will affect how you approach each scenario. One interesting feature is the ability to extract skills from dead units, with which you can change your character's role. The game has a procedurally-generated campaign, so you are never sure what awaits you next. All in all, Urtuk is an addictive mix of Battle Brothers and Darkest Dungeon that will surely appeal to the fans of the genre.
Bang-on Balls: Chronicles
Next on Games on Steam, we have a wacky and charming platformer that puts you in the role of one ballsy hero. The game will lead you through time with vast historically themed levels that contain lots of surprises. Bang-on Balls also gives you tons of weapons at your disposal, so you can easily create complete mayhem. If that ain't enough for you, you can invite 3 more friends, which will make it even more silly. Bang-on Balls perfectly executes a really cool idea, and I can recommend it wholeheartedly.
Horror Bar VR
Even zombies sometimes need to take a break from biting people and just chill. Horror Bar VR puts you in the role of a bartender who will help them do that. In it, you will create dozens of wacky drinks and disturbing dishes that will appeal to these brain-eating partygoers. While it starts easy enough, new mechanics are constantly introduced and you will need to really pick up your pace. The game also has a kickass funky soundtrack that doesn't get old. If you are looking for a creative VR sim that will make you laugh, look no further.
