Games on Steam: Early July
New Games on Steam is a weekly installment on the latest and greatest Indie games on this popular platform. This week, we have something for everybody: tense psychological horrors, hilarious crab battles, and epic stoner claymation adventure.
Alchemist Adventure
To start, we have a solid action-adventure from Bad Minions. Alchemist Adventure puts you in the role of a young alchemist named Mya who is searching for her family. By mastering the power of fire, air, water, and earth, you will be able to defeat enemies and solve various puzzles. Although it's a bit short, Alchemist Adventure has a fleshed-out story that will probably get even more intriguing in the following updates.
King of Crabs
If you ever wanted to climb to the top of the crabs dominance hierarchy, now you can! King of Crabs is a hilarious multiplayer action that lets you battle up to 100 strangers at once. While the gameplay is simple (kill and feast on other crabbies), you can also collect various weapons like swords and shields that will spice-up your battle.
One crab to rule them all! Steam
Clay Game
Clay Game puts you in the role of a dude who loves to just chill and talk with his sarcastic cat. Unfortunately, your idyllic lifestyle gets to a halt, as your boring sister joins a suspicious cult. To save her, you will need to get out your magic wand and get to solving not-so-challenging puzzles and avoiding traps. What takes this game to the next level is its quirky humor and visual style. Basically, every object in the game is made from clay and then inserted into game! Add to this charmingly terrible accents and funny grammatical errors, and you got yourself a good game to kill a few hours.
Paper Dolls 2
Next, we have a mysterious horror adventure. In Paper Dolls 2, you are tasked with discovering what happened to the influential Yin family. To do this, you will be piecing clues scattered throughout their mansion which will combine into an unnerving truth. All in all, Paper Dolls 2 sets up a great atmosphere with just the right amount of jump scares and dozens of smart puzzles that will test your skills. And nerves.
Adam – Lost Memories
Adam – Lost Memories continues our theme of disturbing psychological horror games. This is a story-driven game inspired by the author's unfortunate childhood experiences. The game is set in the claustrophobic and mazelike environment that's perfect for building tension without relying on the jump-scares. Lost Memories is still in early access, but the game looks promising enough and comes with a strong message.
