Games Around the Corner is a new installment that will introduce you to promising games we just can't wait to play. From the frenetic boss shooter and sinister cloud, up to a bizarre metal symphony and mutating alien, this is what you might want to play throughout April and May.

Godstrike

To kick things off, we have an intense bullet-hell roguelite. In Godstrike, you will take your chances against dozen of unforgiving bosses. You also have to act quickly, as your health is constantly being drained. Defeating bosses will unlock new abilities that open up interesting synergies and different playstyles. Godstrike looks epic, chaotic, and really fun, so we can't wait to try it.

Release Date: 15th April

Rain on Your Parade

Rain on Your Parade follows the adventure of a cute cardboard cloud with sinister intentions. Basically, it's your job to make everyone's day miserable. Judging by the trailer, the game is pretty fun and provides you with many abilities to help you create mayhem. If ruining a good wedding, incinerating dinosaurs, or sneaking into a military base sounds intriguing, Rain on Your Parade might be a dream come true. The demo version is available on Steam, so you can start creating chaos today!

Hood: Outlaws & Legends

Next, we have a promising mix of action, adventure, and RPG. Hood: Outlaws & Legends transports you into a deadly medieval world in which you'll have to outsmart other players and enemies and steal the treasure. Each game consists of 2 teams with 4 players that try to execute the heist. It's up to you to choose if you want to move in the shadows or engage in brutal close-range combat. So far, it seems we can choose between 4 characters, each of which has a unique playstyle and abilities. We expect bloody and intense PvPvE showdowns.

Subnautica: Below Zero

Here we have a sequel to one of the most memorable underwater survival games. True, Subnautica: Below Zero was available for a while, but it'll soon finally leave early access and become fully fleshed out. The sequel takes us into the freezing waters of another alien planet where we'll once again have to craft tools, explore, and survive in inhospitable conditions. Below Zero is more narrative-driven and has just as many breath-taking scenes that made Subnautica a cult classic. If you haven't played the original, it's available for free as a part of Sony's Play at Home initiative.

Release Date: 14th May

Of Bird and Cage

Of Bird and Cage is a metal album and a narrative-driven game wrapped in one. It's loosely based on the story of Beauty and the Beast and is set in a much darker surrounding. In it, you will play as Gitta, a drug addict that tries to escape from her captor Bres Lupus. You will have to rush your choices, which will often have devastating consequences. Of Bird and Cage seems like an atmospheric and violent experience that should be interesting, particularly to the fans of symphonic metal.

Knockout City

Some of us might be looking for something lighter, and this is where Knockout City comes in. In essence, this is a multiplayer game of dodgeball, although much more fun and frantic. Form an ultimate crew and defeat opponents in 4v4 or 3v3 matches set in futuristic landscapes. Knockout City gives you a variety of balls, each of which obeys its own laws of physics, which should make it interesting. Visually, the game gives out a Fortnite vibe and we can only hope that it would be that engaging.

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne

Fans have waited long enough, and next month will mark the release of a remake of a popular JRPG. Shin Megami Tensei III takes place in Tokyo, at a time where the ethereal apocalypse is about to start. As you are caught in the showdown between gods and demons, you will have to make your choices carefully, as they will determine the fate of the world. The original quickly became a cult classic, and if remaster is anything like it, it was well worth the wait.

Release Date: 25th May

Biomutant

Finally, we have one of the most promising games around the corner. Biomutant is an action RPG set in a vast open world. In the main role, we have a constantly mutating animal that is also an expert in martial arts. You will change your genetic structure throughout the story, which will drastically change how you play the game with mutations like levitation and telekinesis. Biomutant will also let you craft cool weapons, with enough spare parts that you can design completely unique weapons. Judging by the gameplay, we are about to get a game of epic proportions.

Release Date: 25th May
