This is a mix of popular and expensive classics and great indies that you might otherwise miss. Considering that a monthly subscription costs $4.99, this is a pretty accessible way in which you can test good games before spending your money. From March 2nd to April 5th, you will be able to play these games on Playstation Plus.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
FF7 is widely regarded as one of the best installments in the Final Fantasy series, and this remake has been a long time coming. The expectations have been very high, and luckily, the game delivers. In it, you follow the story of Cloud, the former soldier who decided to rebel against the Shinra corporation which abuses the planet’s energy resources. Of course, the storyline features many interesting twists and new turns that are as gripping as the gameplay itself. Speaking of it, the remake introduced real-time fighting mechanics which was very well executed. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is just the first in the series and gives more than enough juice to get us acquainted with its unique dystopian cyberpunk world. With the second installment just around the corner, this is a perfect time to jump back into the series.
Remnant: From the Ashes
With Remnant, Gunfire Games asked the question: “would Dark Souls work if it was a shooter?”. The answer – you bet your ass it will. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world that was overtaken by terrifying monsters, and, basically, it’s your (and your friend’s) job to kick their butt. However, Remnant is not just your regular shooter, as it puts you in a procedurally generated universe where every mistake will be paid. Prepare to fight epic bosses, acquire cool weapons and mods, and explore the fantastic realms where nothing ever stays the same.
Maquette is an upcoming puzzle-adventure set in a world that is a living Escher painting. As you explore the world, the objects will shift in size from very small to astronomically large. Tiny cracks will suddenly become chasms and this mechanic will give you interesting ways in which you can solve puzzles. At its essence, Maquette is a love story that challenges the severity of our problems by letting us look at them from a fresh perspective.
A fairytale-like puzzler that plays with proportions PlayStation Universe
Lastly, we have a solid VR space shooter in which you get stranded on an unwelcoming alien planet. You have two goals: locate survivors and survive. Farpoint smartly adapts to the limits of VR, creating advantages with what would otherwise be a regular FPS. The shooting mechanic is particularly well done, making it all the more immersive. Farpoint also has the co-op mode, which makes it a perfect VR title to play with your friends.
