Epic Games' Fortnite will be available at the launch of the Xbox Series X on November 10 and PlayStation 5 on November 12. Thanks to the Fortnite developers, some new gaming experiences have been released on these next generation consoles.
Fortnite on Xbox Series X/S
The new consoles from Microsoft come in the form of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. It is worth remembering that the two consoles have several differences. These differences are in specifications, prices and size. Fortnite: Battle Royale will work differently depending on whether you play in Series X or Series S. Below is an analysis provided by Epic Games.
4K RESOLUTION AT 60 FPS IN THE X SERIES
- Experience Fortnite on Xbox like never before on Xbox Series X with stunning 4K running at 60 FPS.
DYNAMIC VISUALS AND PHYSICS IN SERIES X
- Experience a more dynamic and interactive world with grass and trees responding to explosions, enhanced fluid simulations for smoke and liquid (cooler-looking smoke and liquid effects) and new storm and cloud effects.
1080P RESOLUTION AT 60 FPS IN S SERIES
- Enter any game mode and enjoy 1080P running at 60 FPS. The Xbox Series S will support most of the visual enhancements available on the Series X.
JOIN FASTER GAMES
- Loading performance has been significantly updated, not only improving texture loading, but also helping you get into a match from the start of the game much faster.
IMPROVED DIVIDED SCREEN
- On the Xbox Series X | S, Split Screen now supports 60 FPS.
Fortnite players will receive the latest generation 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X. Additionally, 4K capability, faster game load times, improved split screen and better overall visuals. Most of these advances come from a graphical point of view, which is acceptable, considering the Xbox One and Xbox One X updated, released respectively in 2013 and 2017. It was time for console players to get a better experience.
Fortnite on PlayStation 5
Sony's PlayStation 5 console followed a similar path to the Xbox. The standard PS5 will work with the same function as the Xbox Series X. The PlayStation 5 will offer similar benefits to the Xbox, but includes more features specific to Fortnite. See the full review for PS5 below:

SELECT YOUR FAVORITE MODE ON THE PS5 HOME SCREEN
- Fortnite supports PS5 activities, starting with the ability to go straight to the Battle Royale lobby with selected Solo, Duos or Squads. Once in the Lobby, choose to queue for the selected mode!

Progress Transfer
Yes, all progress will be carried over from Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to the next generation. The tutorial on how this should be done will be released soon by Epic Games. It is also important to note that the crossover game will remain intact, meaning that Fortnite players on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 can team up or fight against others on different platforms.
Free Original Pick
Since Fortnite left Chapter 1 in the past in favor of Chapter 2, some younger players may have lost the original pick picking tool. As of November 4, Fortnite fans who are missing out on the default pick of Chapter 1 can get the item from PlayStation Store. This offer is valid until January 15, 2021. Do not miss this option for a limited time.
