Exoprimal Is the Dino Crisis Remake We’ll Probably Never Get

Do you know what really grinds our gears? Seeing a red-headed female protagonist head up a dinosaur-infested survival game, only to release that—wait—it has literally nothing to do with Dino Crisis whatsoever. That's Capcom's Exoprimal, anyway, and we can't honestly tell whether we're psyched about it or a little disheartened.

Of course, Capcom knows all too well that the 1999 horror has been remake material for nearly twenty years now. And yet, the celebrated developer has sat on the idea ever since fans started to pry. Only now, attention has been cast on a whole new IP, one that will bring a range of familiar ingredients to the table, but for a whole other banquet. The problem is, though, it won't be bringing us any closer to that Dino Crisis remake we've been itching for.

Exoprimal – Reveal Trailer

So, what is Exoprimal?

Exoprimal is an upcoming online team-based action game set in the distant future, a time when dinosaurs have taken over and the remaining humans are left to scavenge from the ashes. As an elite soldier with advanced technical abilities, you must wage war against nature's burden and stop the world from meeting a bitter end.

In Dino Survival, the game's primary mode, two teams of five must take to the epicenter of the latest outbreak. Through teamwork and perseverance, teams can tackle a number of PvE and PvP objectives for rewards. With that, the more accomplished tasks, the higher the payout and the faster the progression.

Exoprimal is due to launch in 2023 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can follow all of the latest updates for the game over on the official social handle here. We'll be sure to give you the scoop should anything pop up in the meantime.
