The Epic Games Store is handing out two new free games this week, with another round of freebies set to hit the shelves over the coming months. Headlining this week's roster, however, is Sonic Mania and Horizon Chase Turbo, both of which are available to download until July 1st, where the carousel will once again be nudged along.

In a bid to sway more players to the platform, Epic Games has made the loose promise to upload free games to the carousel on a regular basis. From Alien: Isolation to INSIDE, Cities: Skylines to NBA2K, the gaming giant has been supplying users with a stream of mixed works to gnaw on for years. And now, the figures behind the acclaimed store are dishing up two classic titles that will keep players satisfied for the summer.

What can you download from the Epic Games Store this week?

Sonic Mania

“The ultimate celebration of past and future. An all-new adventure full of unique bosses, rolling 2D landscapes, and fun classic gameplay. Sonic Mania brings retro fast-paced platforming into the future through pixel perfect 2D graphics running at 60FPS.”

Horizon Chase Turbo

“Horizon Chase Turbo is a racing game inspired by the great hits of the 80's and 90's: Out Run, Top Gear (SNES), Rush, among others. It recreates classic arcade gameplay and offers you unbound speed limits of fun.”

Of course, as with any round of freebies that hit the store — you'll only have a short amount of time to bag the bundle and bulk out your library. However, once downloaded, Epic users will have access to the two games for good. So, with that, we can only advise you to pick up the latest batch on your next shopping trip. Come July 1st, Epic Games will wipe the slate clean and draw up new works to introduce to the catalogue. So get to it, people!

Sonic Mania not your thing? Epic Games will be giving away The Spectrum Retreat next week. You can keep tabs on the latest uploads here.
