Don’t Miss Free Indie Titles on Epic Games Store
Gamers rejoice, as a new batch of excellent free Indie titles will soon be available on the Epic Games store. From March 5th to 12th, you will be able to play GoNNER and Offworld Trading Company, while the next week will offer A Short Hike, Mutazione, and Anodyne 2: Return to Dust. Let's see what they bring to the table.
GoNNER
GoNNER is a mix of platformer and roguelike that follows the journey of a character named Ikk and a space whale Sally. It is also ridiculously challenging, but there's a method to the madness. GoNNER's visual style is also kickass, albeit slightly disturbing.
Offworld Trading Company
Elon Musk has done it, Mars has been colonized! However, troubles ensue as Earth's corporations try to dominate this new landscape. Offworld Trading Company is made from Civilization IV lead designer, so you can expect an intricate real-time strategy.
These next 3 free Indie titles were all finalists of the prestigious Independent Games Festival. They will be out next week.
A Short Hike
True to its name, A Short Hike takes you on a peaceful walk through pixelated landscapes of Hawk Peak park. You will take control of Claire – a cute bird that's determined to climb the peak to get good cellphone reception. This little casual gem is perfect if you just want to relax and let go of the day.
Mutazione
Mutazione is a self-described mutant soap opera/adventure game with mesmerizing visual style. You play as Kai, a young girl that goes to a weird community named Mutazione to take care of her grandpa. There, she will meet lots of loveable mutants, some of which will take a bigger part in this beautiful and atmospheric story. Not everything is as it seems, so you should expect lots of twists.
Anodyne 2: Return to Dust
Anodyne 2 is a mix of RPG and adventure that's just a little bit bonkers. Think of it as Zelda meets Psychonauts, both in the graphics department and gameplay. You are playing as Nova, a mysterious creator of the island who has the ability to enter into inhabitants. Throughout the game, you will be switching from a retro 3D landscape to various 2D dungeons, in order to save the world from deadly Nano dust.
