Once again, rumors of Death Stranding 2 have surfaced, this time reports claiming its production is under the codename “Ocean.”

Despite Kojima keeping what he is working on a secret, rumors have emerged about what Kojima productions are working on Death Stranding 2. The rumors come to form a well-known leaker Dusk Golem. He confirms that the game is in production under the codename “Ocean.”

According to a report by Insider, Dusk reports, “Death Stranding 2 is in development (and for some insiders to know I'm not bullshitting about this in the future, its internal codename is Ocean),” he further adds, “But Kojima has had a long-standing deal with Sony on this, which is being analyzed if Sony and Kojima Productions should renew their contracts after DS2 or not at present, but was never in question before this due to a multi-game contract Sony and Kojima Productions have.”

Dusk also cleared the airwaves regarding reports that had surfaced last year of Sony and Kojima working together to produce an Xbox exclusive title, which left fans speculating whether they were working on making Death Stranding 2 an exclusive for Xbox.

Dusk explains, “The deal with Xbox was never meant to be DS2; this rumor is just false. Sony and Kojima Productions have a multi-game contract that expires after DS2 and is currently being decided by both parties whether to continue their relationship or end it after DS2.”

For now, all reports about Kojima working on this new game and sequel to Death Stranding are just rumors. However, we can't dismiss these rumors, especially after Norman Reedus, the main protagonist in Death Stranding, confirmed that they were working on the second installment sometime back in May.

So, what are your thoughts? Do you think these rumors are true? And are you looking forward to Death Stranding 2? Let us know your thoughts and comments in the comment section below or on social media here.
